don't know where else to put this.. i just got 2 negative reps as a result of impersonator activity. i would really like to have them removed. I have 1 -rep from another impersonation that happened a while back, too..
On my Steam Profile, i have a warning, and two other users have left comments showing how they were almost scammed by my impersonator but weren't. but the 2 guys who -repped me were not so fortunate.
I'm trying to add them to tell them, but at the moment, i seem to be ignored. Impersonators keep picking to choose my profile to impersonate users. They always link MY Steamtrades rep page and say that they are trustworthy. a thread about it. what do i do? and is it possible to have these removed? ... what should i do? it seems that even with all my warnings and stuff, there are still those who are scammed and think i did it :(
maybe some other trusted person could add them and explain? idk..

Someone else asked about removing rep in this thread and jade said "Can't remove rep just yet. Working on it, but no luck getting even an ETA. Sorry". So looks like you will have to wait for that and your only option is trying to get in touch with those people via friends etc and explain or point them towards this thread :(

hmmmm when you say these people have randomly given you -rep these people seem to have give you -rep for posting in other peoples threads and with your offers if that is correct dont do it, although rep should not be used for that if you didnt do it you wouldnt have the -rep, also one says scammer, that is what the rep is for, and unlikely someone was impersonating you :)
yes when i was new here i did post randomly but not in those people thread also I never did such things again, still its against rules to give -rep for such thing , coming to the second part i asked the person calling me scammer to provide proof but he didnt and i never traded with him , also i m not so regular in trading, i have clean steamreps as well maybe somebody impersonated me since its quite common nowdays here
Highly unlikely with the impersonation as they use people with high rep and no -rep there would be little point impersonating you when there are so many people with better rep and no -rep ;)
Not all scams are reported and evidence kept i am afraid and it was 4 months ago , but the rep system doesnt require that. I would delete the three scammer friends you have from your list also ;)
i add ppl to trade with dont check their steamreps unless i go first , so i dont care whom i m trading with , m new in trading & i do it occasionally when i have some extra money
Sure, that can happen, just best to delete any scammers from your friends list, the link you gave me tells you which ones. If you are new to trading and only trade occassionaly then you have been pretty unlucky to end up with 3 scammers ;)

Scammer... Don't trade with him. We cooperated in order to trade stuff he and one other guy invested for something they both wanted.
Well.
At some point he got 2x CS:GO so he can do the trade for Skyrim while I was away (offline on PC, online on mobile which can't do trades). I and SirFriess trusted him. What did happen is, he kept Skyrim and some other stuff, and left SirFiress with nothing...
I considered both Hanthing and SirFiress my friends before, that's why I wanted to help them make some profit.
I trusted both.
Don't trade with him. He is extremely unhonest and unfair person.

SirFiress can confirm this, I can show screenshots of my trading transactions, where we passed some gifts between us. Well I was theoretically the "lead" trader, and SirFiress and Hanthing just invested some games. Hanthing gave Darkness 2, SirFiress - Crysis Collection (SirFiress bought C Coll with his own money).
What I would be really glad you do thejadefalcon, I would beg you to suspend Hanthing at least temporarily, before he has the chance to trade stolen Skyrim away.

In the last part of the whole story I sent Hanthing 2x CSGO as a gift from my mobile. This was the only way we could get the deal for Skyrim done. I was away from PC, and the mobile application can't do trading part of real Steam platform, sadly.
I sent 2x CS:GO gifts to Hanthing, but I can't prove it, as I can't find something like "gift history". But he got 2x CS:GO for Skyrim from me, and then never gave back anything.
I now passed the only leftover after this scam - The Walking Dead - to SirFiress, so he doesn't feel like he has got completely ripped off (yes he has got)

Why should I unban? Is there a reasonable explanation? Because all I'm seeing is a scammer.
Basically? I want him unbanned because he didn't do anything wrong in the end. He returned Skyrim, we divided what remained from my trading and that's all, we finished our business in peace since Hanthing got ban.
I don't think he deserves the ban that much. Is it permanent ban that you gave him? I understand you why you punished him and I think it was necessary to report him here from my side, but now that he gave up...

Where is the thread ? There is a conversation earlier about you posting in other peoples threads and your -rep which resulted in you calling people retards. You said you were new to trading yet traded cs:go's to scammers 4 months ago, i would take what this guy says with a pinch of salt jade ;)
Suspended both of the new -reps, but if I ever hear word that you're posting offers again, I will give you a 14 day suspension for spam, because I'm hearing way too much of this.

Although said OP is already getting out of trading and stirring up a hornet nest prior...maybe a boot would be better. The concealing of identity...is almost useless and this is after all a trading forum imo. He is not bringing attention to scammers or anything important. Ball in your court Jade...
^^^ Wondered how long this would take lol. I think the steam gifts rule is not calling giveaways fake but its up to jade. If a ban is the case the guy who handed out a -rep to him needs banning too ;)
Calling out is for giveaways, for scammer reports outside of any official threads for it (though I've been letting STrades threads go, since you're still officially unmoderated) and generally for anything that would open a user to abuse or harassment.
As mentioned to Dread just above, I've shut this down for calling out and suspended the OP for revenge rep and inappropriate behaviour.
One was closed without prompting, so for now, I've simply closed the other one and won't give a suspension.

Afraid not, sorry. ST is still without a dedicated support team. I'm just using little tricks I've picked up to deal with threads and suspend. Officially, I have no powers here.

As the titles have a 100 characters limit I have 1 thread with [H] more remarkable haves, one with [W] temporal/urgent wants and both point to a third one with the entire list of what I have and what I want (which I don't bump). I don't multiply my threads just edit them according to changes. Should I change this?
I don't know how that works, Pastebin allow formats? links? it seems plain text. Also it seems that requires to connect some social network or create an account. I don't want to do that.
Another advantage is that I have different wants and haves on titles.
I don't think what I do is spam or annoy others, but if mods consider it that way, I will change it.

So I closed one of my threads, today enter and see the other one closed, why? Can't I have two threads open?
Aren't you all fed up with sights like this becoming more and more common? So am I. Therefore, this is a warning. Do not open or leave open more than two trading threads at once, especially for the same thing. Do not "invisibly" bump your thread every two minutes. I have begun suspending and I am not giving you just a light slap on the wrist for this amount of spam. Now, I'm more of an SG mod, I'm not good with STrades, so, please, feel free to point me towards anyone who needs it, preferably with evidence. Might as well use this thread for it. This is going to stop.
Update: This problem should never have been allowed to get to this point (and I likely would have been okay with it if the bumps were at least staggered rather than bumping six threads at once), so I'm probably going to seem overly harsh to some of you, cracking down on everything severely. Now that this is stickied, I'll give everyone a grace period of twenty-four hours (until 7:30 PM UTC, 7th) to reorganise their threads and close down any duplicates. After that, I will begin to suspend without warning.
Edit: Time's up. Suspensions begin now.
Update 2: After a talk with Yatterman, two trading threads is now acceptable, as long as they are not identical.
Update 3: Just found a nifty bug(?) on the site that'll let me close the offending threads without officially having any powers on Strades. Feel free to link the threads in future and I'll close them too.
Update 4: As some may already know, my activity will drop massively as of right now. I'll still be dealing with SteamTrades stuff whenever I can, but expect me to be a little slow on it.
