For the spam, sure, why not? I'm not handling scam reports, I don't have the experience or the free time necessary to deal with those properly.
'Do not open multiple threads for the same thing' - so opening 9000+ threads is okay if you just make each about a different game you're offering? Doesn't seem right. On the other hand it sometimes makes it easier to find offers you're looking for...
This annoys me.
I also dislike people who make 5 threads as they have 5 things to trade.
Then they bump those multiple threads.
They should just bundle it into one thread like the rest of us.
Finally something's being done, I've had only one thread open since I started trading over 4 months ago, and that' the way it should be. I just opened up a second for a specific reason yesterday, but that will most likely be closed soon anyway (more of a favor thread than a trading thread). I bump my thread, check the forum, and see that right after I bump my single thread, someone bumps 7+ of his own which already pushed mine out of view. 14-18 minutes on the front page because of this is insane...
Down to one now, can't wait to see the reactions of people with 3+ threads, either it'll give more screen time to those of us with one or give us less competition when people don't listen and get banned ;)
I have my main thread that I close after 100 comments(I hate clicking to pages to find the last comment) and my giveaway thread that I close after what I'm giving away is gone :)

Sorry for the scare, Bos, but I want to give people warning in cases like yours, where it's a bunch of different trades (I just suspend for duplicate threads), but I also need to make a full stand and just say no to the whole thing.

Im hoping i get no offers,lol.. i have 3 active threads and i just picked up a new game around 4 am and rather scroll and find one of my old ones i took the lazy route. Hey, zombiepetr. Please stick to one thread at a time. If you need to mark what's a key and what's a tradeable, please group them separately in the same post.

I have two threads too, one main thread with everything on it, and one with only the leftover bundle keys that I'd trade for pretty much anything tradable. Was helpful to keep those two thread separated (and bump them at 10-15 mins interval so as not to pollute the fromt page.) I will keep it down to a single thread if this is what is asked, but it will definitively be an annoyance for me.
Hopefully, this will just be a temporary stopgap measure and this will be handled appropriately and with a softer touch when ST recieves its own site upgrades, but until then thank you for your co-operation.

That's a whole other matter. As I mentioned, I'm an SG mod. I personally can't handle scam reporting, that was Yatterman's domain. I do what I can, but without his consent to open a thread again and have me ban everyone needed, I think the thread would sit there, stagnant, without anything happening with the reports. For now, please use Support. We're still getting back up to speed but we're working on both sites to the best of our abilities.
I know you would if you could, well hopefully everything will be running full speed soon.

I've had some topics (say, 10-15) since I started trading here. some of them are still open now, but I'm not bumping them anymore.
I guess there wouldn't be any problem if I have one general trading topic, and every once in a while create another topic for fast-trading an item, right?

2 thread limit seems like the best idea to me (one for all your games, looking for general offers and another either for keys or for a specific trade that you're after). I've closed down mine now though and have just got one :)

That was brought up in my discussion with cg last night and a thread cap will probably be implemented when ST gets upgraded properly.
2 threads? It will be very hard to find ppl interested in our games in that way... Search bar becomes useless, because we can't include all game names in title and we would have to bump thread all day.
F.e. I got now 1 thread for normal, full games (keys and gifts), 1 for indie bundles and separate games from them and 1 for Desura games. Titles are (still too short for me):

At least give us possibility of searching thread's content (Google can't separate offers from comments) and longer thread titles - it would be especially great to have 2 lines of title, 1 for HAVE and 2nd for WANT. Each could be even 1024 characters long, but most of it default hidden on threads page - it would expand on mouse-over. Ofc search function would see complete titles.
Ideally the site would be able to search the content of the OP in addition to the title.

Does commenting many times to a thread you made within a short time considered spam like you go away for an hour and have like 10 offers and then decline them all within a few minutes is that ok?

Well, close a thread when you're done with it. I don't see how difficult it is to count how many you have open at one time.
maybe someone have 5-6 threads, and some of theese threads already inactive, but not !closed!... how the hell can ppl's searching for his own opened thread's?! because here on steamtrades can't searching for user names... ^^ / its would be the easyest way to detect inactive & not closed threads... or its just no matters if theese are don't BUMP-ed to time to time?!

Why don't you just ask CG to have a 2 thread limit integrated into the system? If the limit is reached and you want a new thread, you need to close an exsting one first.
If they bypass this rule by locking and creating threads every 5 minutes just ban them.
Saves the trouble of hunting for those threads.

So its ok these scumbags have been ruining the site with no consequences and people have been telling them and they havent done anything about it. Darky992 there was always a rule no duplicate posts just it wasnt enforced with a suspension. They couldnt follow the rules but all of a sudden can when there is consequences ;)

Trust me when I say I've already pissed off countless people. These suspensions are generally not gentle. A good number have been for two weeks. Since my activity is sharply dropping in three and a half days, I'm trying to strike a good balance between doing our Lord cg's work and not making a nuisance of myself to the other moderators who are taking my place.

How can I see my old threads? Because I usually open a new one every 1-2 weeks or so, but sometimes I forgot to delete them.

Aren't you all fed up with sights like this becoming more and more common? So am I. Therefore, this is a warning. Do not open or leave open more than two trading threads at once, especially for the same thing. Do not "invisibly" bump your thread every two minutes. I have begun suspending and I am not giving you just a light slap on the wrist for this amount of spam. Now, I'm more of an SG mod, I'm not good with STrades, so, please, feel free to point me towards anyone who needs it, preferably with evidence. Might as well use this thread for it. This is going to stop.
Update: This problem should never have been allowed to get to this point (and I likely would have been okay with it if the bumps were at least staggered rather than bumping six threads at once), so I'm probably going to seem overly harsh to some of you, cracking down on everything severely. Now that this is stickied, I'll give everyone a grace period of twenty-four hours (until 7:30 PM UTC, 7th) to reorganise their threads and close down any duplicates. After that, I will begin to suspend without warning.
