I recently got scammed after becoming too comfortable. Scammer is called Rafaelh9siX and has a recent Rep on SteamTrades. To cut a long story short, he did a runner after trading 19 of my keys, and proceeded with deleting his thread on SteamTrades immediately after the scam trade. Posting this, because he has now returned to SteamTrades with a replica thread.

I was really comfused when i saw two ELDRAGO profiles with the same nick and avatar. the only difference was steam level. i dont believe that theft of a identity is to be made in good faith. i think that his just wait for a occassion to scam somebody and all fault will be on you. You should act before he will make you trouble.
This user I just found out gave me neg rep for no reason whatsoever. It's my first after 97 (now 98) satisfactory transactions. He accuses me of being fake and gay (is that an accusation?) and stealing XCOM. I don't know the guy, as far as I know I've never talked to him. And BTW, he has no feedback at all on his profile.
Plus, it's well-known XCOM has recently been available for free in a promotion by greenman gaming and the Joystick awards, that's where I got mine. I have never traded for XCom on this forums or anywhere else. This is pure nonsense.

This guy promised me a The Forest CD-Key for 1 Team Fortress 2 Key from market.
I bought the key, I gave it to him, and, he gifted me 2 backgriunds. After that, he gave me a invalid CD-Key and blocked me. I have screenshots as evidence.

He's very presuasive, I got my Evolve Steam Gift and he wanted to trade me with his COD AW Serial Key. He gave me a fake key, and gone. I've traded serial number with several people and succedeed. My gut failed me this time.
I have had a positive feedback deleted and a negative feedback put against me because I left a negative feedback for Raigeki. I offered him a trade of Ship Complete, Hydrophobia and Super Killer Hornet: Resurrection for what I thought was Anodyne. It turned out to be a booster pack worth 14p. When I contacted him about it he was unbelievably rude and upsetting and had no sympathy whatsoever. I would have returned it without question. I was fed up with him insulting me so I left him negative feedback. He deleted my positive feedback and changed it for negative feedback. Please can you delete my negative feedback as I take my feedback very seriously and this was a revenge attack for giving him negative feedback.

wanted to trade The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt after we figured out the price I bought it and when we almost traded he sad that the game is Region locked (but it is not, it has letters that say in what region it was bought but nothing says that it can't be activated or played in any region) I tried to explain that it is not locked but he just ignored me and than deleted from the friend list. I reported him to his reputation for scamming me and he wrote to my reputation that I was trying to give him "locked game" which is now truth! Be careful with this guy and try to avoid him!

In a nutshell we had agreed to do a trade, his Nba 2K15 for my Forest and Dayz gifts. He told me that he had a key from Amazon redeemable on Steam. He expected me to go first and send the games as gifts via steam since he had some positive feedback on his steam account. I naively accepted it. As soon as I sent both games, he unfriended me without sending the key for Nba 2k15. I've uploaded screenshots of the whole conversation in the following link.

So this has been an incredibly weird experience. Long story short, three hours later, the guy added me back and after a VEEEERY long conversation gave me back my games.
Initially he claimed that he was hijacked by some "other guy". I found it hard to believe. Moreover when I asked him about the other people who accused him of scamming on his user page, he plainly said that "I have no idea - some people like to troll, lol". Anyways we have this long conversation he gives me back my stuff and I told him that I'll delete the negative feedback on his user page but still leave a message notifying the community of the case. Because as I told him, even if he was telling the truth(which was like a on in a billion chance), people should at least know that his account is "prone to hijacking" so they should keep that in mind when they deal with him.
And get this, after our conversation and he confesses that by "the other guy" he meant his "bad side"! So apparently this guy is suffering from multiple personality disorder or whatever, he has good days and bad days, but he claims he's good guy and doesn't do this kind of things anymore.
All in all I don't know if this guy had a revelation of some sort. I'm content that I got my stuff back but I completely lost my belief in the community. I will never ever again take a leap of faith and go first in a trade. I'll just use steam trade or if people are so willing to trade, I'll let them go first. This was my second trade and second disappointment.
I'm uploading our whole conversation just like I did for the first one. So if you think I'm being subjective at any point, you may read the stuff yourself and reach to your own conclusions.
I want to share one last word with the whole community: We're trading games here people, it's really not worth stealing! I mean of course as a decent human being you should never ever steal from anyone under any circumstance. MAYBE I could understand a father stealing bread for his hungry child but stealing video games is ... I don't know what to say, just plain laughable I guess.

I had filed a misuse of rep report on steamgifts a couple of months ago as I thought that was the proper place to report such issues, but I have still yet to hear back from an admin. On impersonators
There has been quite the rise in impersonators around here lately and more and more people seem to fall for their scams. It has been suggested that there should be a post concerning the subject, in order to prevent users from getting scammed, however considering that ST is not actively moderated, we wouldn't be able to maintain such a topic currently. The warning about this subject is more on how to avoid or handle such scams.
Please make sure the ST profile being linked from the person adding you, actually belongs to them. Verify that their steam profile URL is the same as the one who added you to trade and obviously, please search for them on steamrep, don't ask them to link their profile/rep, just do it yourselves.
In the case of such a scam occuring, please report them to steamrep and SG support, by providing some proof of what happened and explaining any details (please attach screenshots of your chatlogs and their steam profile). Creating a thread on SG forums in not the way to go, as that will get you temporarily suspended for calling out. There have been incidents of the wrong person getting blamed for a scam and thus harassed for absolutely no reason.
On feedback
Misuse of feedback has been turning out to be quite an issue, not only with messing up trades but also with reports on support about its removal. I think that most users are not aware of how it should be used thus this thread will serve as a reminder and a warning on how it should be used, how it shouldn't be used and what will happen if it's not used accordingly.

Common sense should apply in the above. The fact that I didn't mention a specific comment does not mean that it's acceptable. Misuse of feedback can get you suspended temporarily and if done repeatedly, suspension can get permanent. Revenge feedback, in particular, is especially tricky considering a lot of people want negative reputation removed from their profiles. If the people requesting the removal of negative rep from support have left such revenge negative feedback on the other user's profile, they can get temporarily suspended as well. Giving them revenge feedback does not make you any better than them.
Considering all the above, I would like to ask users here to remove any feedback they have left on other people's profiles that does not follow the guidelines above. Any investigation done on the removal of negative feedback from now on will take this thread into account and the fact that everyone should have read it and complied with it. No appeals will be handled for temporary misuse of feedback suspensions, considering you had the time to remove it yourselves.
