someone got scammed by an impersonator, negative repped me, and apparently hasn't taken heed to the warning on my profile. may i have it removed please :(

Put a message on your steam profile in saying "MAKE SURE COMMENTS AND ALIASES MATCH UP" this is the quickest and easy way to spot a impersonator, since most people open the profile via steam trades, and then via steam since the guy added you, just match up comments and aliases as there is no way to fake them
idk. i've got a nice big warning on my profile page, but somehow, folks still get scammed, then they go to my profile to -rep me.. the problem i'm having, is my impersonator will add someone, tell them to go first, then link MY steamtrades rep and say that they should trust him, so they do, and then are scammed. they then proceed to -rep MY steamtrades rep, as that's the one that was linked :(
then i have to add them and walk them through checking inventory history to find the real account they gave their game to. that normally fixes things, but some will accept my invite, cuss me out/call me scammer, then remove me/block me, still believing i scammed them. i'm really hating this..
i would really appreciate an option to add notes to my steamtrades rep page, saying something like "If you were given this link to show that you should trust me and go first, DON'T do it, as I will never link this page".. idk
Well I recommend putting a tutorial of how not to get scammed by an impersonator on your profile, this will deter impersonators and also hopefully help potential victims (some people are just really stupid and cannot be helped). Thats all you can do, if the victum have a IQ above 60 then they should be able to avoid the scammers with all these measures.

He scammed another guy out of his Borderlands, and that guy posted a few comments on my profile saying I was being reported. The luddovic guy has changed his alias to mine recently (today, i'm guessing), which seems to be how he tricked the other user. I already have a steam ticket in, but it's very frustrating to pride myself on a clean trading record and then have some jackhole come through and ruin it...
Anyway, just a heads-up for everyone out there...
I just noticed in his alias history that he also appears to have tried impersonating yatterman...
Why does valve allow people to change their names? everyone should be required to have a unique (public) id...
a on steam rep system would also work. maybe something you have to apply for or enable just for traders. not just this comment stuff something you can't hide or instantly delete.

I didn't get mad because you didn't take my offer. Actually you are the one who got upset and started calling me a newbie trader since I refused to add anything to an already even trade. All you had to do was say "no thanks", and it would have been over. No problem. However you not only called names, but also made up a complete fabrication by giving me a negative rep saying that I tried to scam you and that you had to delete me. Telling you "No" to your request for me to add more games is not scamming.

I offered you Stacking, which trades very easily. You say I offered you a "flash game", but at the time your game was the daily deal for $3.74 I didn't "rage" as you put it, I merely said I wasn't going to add anything because the trade was already even. Then you began calling names. If you want to insist that I'm a noob, then so be it, but don't put negative reps on people's profiles that blatantly lie about them trying to scam people. If you do not want that negative rep on your profile, I will gladly remove it, as soon as you remove that negative rep claiming that "I tried to scam you", which is a complete joke. If not, we can wait it out for the forum moderators to remove these.

Beware people with private profiles.
Also when you are chatting with someone you can see the dates they changed their name. Just in the community window it does not show the dates. Make sure they do not change their name often.

Alway be suspicious, if somebody has a private profile, has many "good" comments on steam profile page, due he has newly registered on steam. Who is changing his nickname frequently. Showing others profile anywhere. And no way wanna go first. Be carefully.

I left a negative review for one member and he replied by calling me a scammer which is not true since we didn't even trade anything :) (I was on a honeymoon back then and used mobile steam so I had to suggest middle man). Calling people is against the rules if I've understood right so is it possible to get this comment removed? Thanks a lot for your patience and for the work you do to keep this place nice and clean :)
