Hello,
I'm really very sorry, I misread it. I thought the comment deletion update was undone @ SG. Sorry for wasting your time. By the way, since you've kindly replied to my comment, I would like to tell you (even though many have already put forward this point) that a good moderation is the update almost every trader in this forum is eagerly waiting for =) Few things and people are really messed up here. We would be grateful if you implement that soon if possible.
Apologies for bad English.
may I suggest limiting the number of open trade threads to 2 for each user? People are creating threads en masse and bumping them at the same time to take up real estate on the front page.
i like 3 threads. 1 for junk, one for better items, and the third for a special trade when it comes up like if you only want to move 1 item or looking for something.
as for people bumping dup trades all at the same time. well i cant put this nicely but these people are dumb and miss the point of 3 dup threads if you bump them all at once.
I disagree. I believe 3 threads is fine and do not need to be lowered
I have three threads open but they are not the same. If it gets lowered to 2 threads, then I believe it would cause more inconvenience to traders than seeing one less trade thread in the front page.
Besides, it would mean less trading happening here.
cg, sorry for contacting in this way, but i tried add you to report a scammer and he gave me 17 false feedback points...
If possible take a look in my account. this is the guy:

The group where are the fake accounts to give me the fake reps:
Another group targeted me not long ago, moderation here would be nice, see too many users use multiple accounts here to bypass rules and issue fake reputation
If only it worked like that. I have neg rep that the community voted 59% to remove which is just short of the 60 needed. SO not only was a scammed out of a game, but the guy who did it neg rep'd me in return for me neg reping him and the community did in fact take away the neg rep I gave him. The system isnt fair when its so easily abused and theres no recourse against it.
Many people don't even know how to read. They just vote in favor of who has more rep. I was talking about the case above since it was obvious that everyone would vote in his favor.
Well my votes are still here,
Major abuse of the system, I have gotten played on steamtrades by 100+ accounts allowing Fake and unethical reviews reporting myself.

All the four comments got 100+ accounts allowing such fake reviews pass which is suspicious as you tend to have much less than 200 users voting on a typical review within a given time-frame. These accounts posting are all private/fresh accounts registered around the same time on this site.
Quite frankly there isn't enough moderation to crack down on ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNTS on this site, I don't mind the community voting system at all, I'm all for it. However, it'd be great to know WHO IS ALLOWING such fake reputation to pass on a MASS scale to CRACKDOWN on the SYSTEM ABUSERS
Use this post as PROOF of wrongdoing in this community, I have had users come up to me about this user: https://www.steamtrades.com/user/76561198057750112
Who uses his alts below (just the tip of the iceburg) to remove negative reps from his account and enforce negative reps on other users accounts

Just an example, now this user is a card farmer which means he/she has 100's-1,000's of accounts to play dirt cheap or even free games for steam trading cards to then sell. So it's within this users power to ABUSE the steamtrades system.... Is this right? No of course not! It's all about accounts here nothing more nothing less and people who use multiple will ALWAYS stay ahead of REGULAR USERS until something is done.
PS. sorry for posting here but I really wanted to get this point across somewhere, I'm sick of this
if we cant delete trades can trades that have been closed for over say 6moths to a year be auto deleted. i have 7 pages of closed threads from like 6 years of trading here.
also maybe have something so we can tag comments to not be deleted untill the tag it removed or a year has passed (based on first suggestion) incase they need it for something
4 weeks is a long time. 2 would be plenty.
Consider removing posts bumping a thread. It serves no purpose and makes abandoned threads seem active. Only the owner should be able to bump things. Preferably with a single button press instead of a drop down menu.
I would like to say one thing,
Many traders update their threads only once a month (when a bundle is released). They rely on people contacting them on steam directly to conduct business, which is the main medium of dispatch.
By prematurely closing their threads, although valid, you are preventing them from receiving such traffic.
I, for one, have added (on steam) many traders who have neglected their threads for several months, and performed amicable trades.
I'm not saying don't take action. However, closing the thread is not the right one, in my opinion.
Thank you for reading.
And thank you to the developers for continued updates.
Cheers,
Edit: Consider marking the thread as inactive with a duration indicator. Thanks
Hi. I have 2 -rep on my profile that have nothing to do with trading. One is from selling the last key for a game that I got from a dev, and the person felt he should have gotten it. The other is from a guy who is overreacting to a comment I made on his steamtrades. Both of these people I suspect are botting, or getting a mass amount of friends to vote in their favor.
mqaybe 4 weeks is a bit short time..i mean increase it to at least 6 weeks could be better Imaho
Regardless of closing threads of inactive users after 4 weeks please consider to also close threads of obvious scammers since some ppl don't seem to see their -reps and keep replying to and maybe trade with them ...

Hey everyone,
There have been a couple of changes and revisions to the site today based on recent feedback.
If a user is inactive for 4 weeks, their trades will now be automatically closed. This will help to ensure you're only seeing trades from users that were recently online. If the user returns to the site, they can easily reopen their trades again.
I heard some concerns about yesterday's changes, and how deleting comments from view could cause issues with permalink references. Therefore, although comments are still permanently deleted after 5 minutes, the site has been adjusted so empty comments will always be visible in case you need to link to them for one reason or another. The other concern was that allowing a user to delete their entire trade could be inappropriate as it gives the user the ability to remove comments from others. I rolled back that change, so trades cannot be deleted, and like before, you will want to simply close a trade when you are done with it.
