My first trade with him was quick and friendly, but after I declined his later offer, he called me a bitch and accused me (a 38 year old female) of being "menopausal." I wished him a good day all the same, and he subsequently went and deleted all his comments from my trade thread. He can be very rude, and as others have mentioned, childish and disrespectful. His MO seems to be verbally insulting and attacking other genders and nationalities when he perceives a slight or doesn't agree with an offer, or absence thereof. This kind of behavior over something as simple as a trade offer speaks volumes. I can only imagine the number of negative reps this gentleman would have if folks weren't concerned about a fabricated reciprocal negative rep. Use caution.
Edited to Add: This user misuses the trade feedback system, misrepresenting facts, and giving negative rep in retaliation for respectable traders telling the truth about him. For example, after my above post was published, he retaliated with fabricated negative rep on my profile, which is a complete misuse of the feedback system. He posted, and I quote, " Careful with trading with this crazy lady. She trades only if there is an immense (5x or more) profit in it for her, and does not deal in fair trades in the least. Example includes wanting my This War of Mine + other games for 2 of her 10c bundle games. Enjoy your first negrep."
What really occurred was that he approached me with a list of games that he wanted, which included an entire humble bundle tier plus others. I told him what I wanted for them, and he offered me junk. I replied that I was sorry we couldn't come to an agreement, but I just couldn't do that. I went on to explain how I calculate my trades for fairness. First and foremost is resale value, what I can sell my games for vs what I can buy someone else's for. I don't care if someone got in on a sale or bought their games in a bundle. Just like making good decisions in life, trading is done with financial concerns in mind. If someone had cash to spend when I didn't or got in on a deal that I missed, kudos to them. That doesn't, however, diminish the value of their items. If it can't be bought for that price now, it's irrelevant to me. Of course, people factor trades differently, especially if games are, or ever were, in a bundle and by how badly they want something, but I've always been very public about how I balance trades, and this user knew this from past conversations with me. His response was to call me a "bitch" and tell me that I must be crazy due to being menopausal. This level of rudeness and verbal abuse is breathtaking. I've never come across a more unprofessional person in my entire career as a business owner, let alone in recreational activities such as this.
I've submitted a user report for misrepresentation of the trade feedback system and have encouraged SG support to take the time to read his negative feedback and the reciprocal comments that he's left as neg rep in every single occurrence. If vulgar language and racism isn't enough to warrant action, perhaps sexism and borderline sexual harassment does.
I don't get bullied easily, so my comment will stay live because it's warranted. He verbally abused, insulted, and made sexually harassing comments to me as a result of my politely declining his offer. Last I checked, however, turning down an offer does not warrant negative feedback. I trust that SG support will be removing that from my profile.
7/6/16. This user's ignorance seems to be limitless. He's now edited his feedback on my profile to include, "User is apart of the shady as hell Rex "Network". I wouldn't trust this individual with children, may child protective services show up soon to rescue her kids. The 'network' tries to lie to people to get them to download malicious malware/apps onto their phone for 'free steam wallet codes'. Suspicious as all hell." I don't know what child protective services has to do with trading on steam, but this is pure stupidity. Additionally, and as this user already knows, I'm a freelance reviewer, so in addition to reviewing directly for developers and publishers, I've also had multiple reviews featured in Review Experts, Good Games, Giveaways & Reviews, and the #GamersRule blog. I have absolutely nothing to do with the groups or giveaways. Surely, he'll find something better to do with his time in the future than harassing me; one can only hope. What this user is doing is flagrant misuse of the trade feedback system. You can't give someone neg rep when there WAS NO TRADE. The only thing I did was to prevent this user from taking advantage of me by politely declining his offer and explaining why. If someone scams or verbally abuses you during the course of a trade discussion, like this user has done to me, then yes, neg rep is warranted. Giving neg rep because someone turned down your offer or because you don't agree with their pricing is misuse of this system.
