I just got scammed by this guy Profile link. I give him my BioShock 2 key in order to get his The Cave key as promised. However, he deleted me out of his friend list and blocked me after receiving my key. The proof can be found over here:
Proof

Did not find the old thread for reporting so I posted it here for people. Don't trust this guy, let him play his own games with his "mother".

//It seems Steam has done their justice, the profile has been banned now. Thank you all for your replying and I feel sorry for everyone who got scammed by that douchebag. Wish you guy a good day.

sorry about that :/ report him at steamrep and you should check the steamtrade status and steamrep of the another person profile. Shit happens and i hope that you didn't payed much for your bs2 key.

Thanks for your comment.
I've already reported him at SteamRep as well as through Steam support, thanks for your advice. It will be the best thing if my game can be retrieved back. But in case it cannot, I will be fine, but I have to show the true face of this guy to everyone so everybody can be safer and make him got banned to punish him.

I don't think steam support will do anything considering its Keys that were traded which is out of the steam trade window so they will ignore your request steam rep on the other will definitly mark him as a scammer.

Why would you trade keys with someone who has so much negative reviews on his steamtrades profile?

1 decade ago
Permalink

I do not have his SteamTrades profile when trading. But ya, that's my mistake. Got some happy news today and then let my guard down.

Blocked him while ago. He's a well-known scammer.

My mistake for not finding his profile on SteamTrades. I saw his profile at SteamRep is fine so I decided to go first.

Thanks bro. I also did the report on SteamRep as well, hope he will get banned soon.

Put some text inbetween brackets "[" "]" then put the http link between parenthesis "(" ")" like this.

Thank you for the tips.

No problem. Sorry to hear that you were scammed.

A painful lesson learnt. At least you didn't lose too much.

Thanks for your reply. Funny thing is I've traded for quite a long times and can be said that I got nearly no scam at all since I always ask people to go first. Unfortunately, just this time when I let the guard down. You are right, that's a lesson for me to learn.

When I first came to ST, I got hit hard and lost my tradable Borderlands GOTY and Dungeons Gold. That really sucked.

1 decade ago

That's much more painful from what I passed. Hope the scammer scammed you got banned forever.

"My mom doesn't let me go first"
What a dumb ass scammer, facepalm.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yep +1 facepalm. I can't believe OP actually believed him hahahahah

1 decade ago
Permalink

haha, even me don't know why :) just felt happy from work today and then let the guard down. My mistake anyway.
Actually, I did not believe him 100%, but well, let see how Steam chat logs could be useful now.

I've commited the same mistake some years ago, hahaha.
But, at least we learnt a lesson.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I don't understand, why the hell would you go first, his rep is straight down to the levels of hell and you just simply went "No, I'll go first"

1 decade ago
Permalink

Sometimes people are just willing to take a risk to get what they want. Scammers obviously like to prey on those.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Maybe if it's a long times ago when I've just entered the trading, I will ask myself the same question. That was my mistake, anyway.
But besides, I feel fine, if he have asked me for that game, maybe I would have even given him that game for free. (Eh, don't say I'm joking or liar, it happened sometimes as well. Once there was a guy added me to ask for Magicka Collection because he was looking for this game for his brother to play with him. He gave me so many deals but I did not accept, then later I decided to gave him that game for free). Just feel quite happy when doing that action. But meh, scamming for just a kid, just ban that kid and let him play at home with his "mother". I can get my game back or not? That doesn't matter anymore. Just want to let you guy know his true face.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I don't think you'll get your game back, just ask to cancel the key.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Ya, for me getting the game back or not doesn't matter anymore. Just looking for a banning from Valve and the best case is they take the game out of his acocunt. Besides, I just want to let everybody know his true face and therefore, nobody will be like me anymore.

yeah...he just tried to scam me. it didn't work out for him

1 decade ago
Permalink

It's good to hear about that.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Wow...that sucks. Just remember that when its too good to be true, it prob is. I could really care less about rep tbh. Anyone can make up fake profiles and give rep all day long. But, anyways, if it sounds like a great offer, tell them to go first, and if they dont, tell them to pound sand!

Ya, thanks for your reply. Will be more careful next time. I often be quite careful when trading, but then, one time letting the guard down and ... boom! I've got headshot!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yeah, Happened to me a few weeks ago. People see low rep and take advantage of that. Someone stole HIB THQ from me, and while ti was only $2, it was the fact that it happened that put me on alert as well.
I stayed away from here for a while cause of that, and back just being more careful.

He's a knowed scammer.
Was reported 5 times the same day on SteamRep.

He will get a trade ban soon. ;)

So you also got scammed by him? Sorry if that's is true. Hope Valve will also ban him soon.

Valve doesn't make nothing with scammers.
They response always "we dont support any trade outside steam, use only steam trade window"

1 decade ago

Sorry to hear that you also got scammed by him.

Hey, at least it wasn't anything major, just Metro 2033. Gotta be pretty desperate to scam for that one xD

Thanks for your reply, I'm waiting for the response from Valve.

Ya, the guy scammed him is the same guy who scammed me. Hope Steam would ban him forever.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Wow...this guy tried to scam me yesterday too. Guess he's on the move.

The guy added me randomly. Basically wanted my Payday: The Heist for $5. I told him to go first. He said no. I asked if we could get a middleman from Steamrep and he said no because of Mom issues.

With the same story: "It's my Mom's Paypal. I can't go first. I got scammed before. I'm poor. Can't risk going first...etc."

I mean the guy sounded like a kid...didn't seem ethically right to sell him an aged 17+ game, so I decided not to go first and end it there.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Good to hear that you was not scammed by him. Keep using his mom as a reason, meh.

1 decade ago
Permalink

you believed in the "mum" story? hahahahaha

1 decade ago
Permalink

Nope, I didn't. But I trusted Valve chat logs. What I was thinking is: - my game is not a expensive game, does he need to scam just for it? - The Valve chat system has the chat logs now, does people still dare to scam for a key? I mean, ya, scam for a gift is reasonable, but a key? But meh, with a guy who need to scam just for a Metro key, nothing is impossible.
And that's the story of why my thread is created.
