You did not get scammed by Makam, you got scammed by his impersonator. You are not the first one. I've already talked with two others who lost their games to him (one even lost a Total War: Warhammer key that I wanted to buy from him)
There is some idiot who uses Makam's profile picture, has very few games and his account is usually private.
Let me guess- he added you without notifying you on steamgifts first, told you he has what you need, gave you a link to the real Makam's steamgifts profile with loads of rep and asked you to go first?
Edit: You should have read at least the first or the last feedback that Makam has received. They both say that he has an impersonator.
