Hey ST, please be careful when trading for Humble Bundles. It appears a large number have been purchased using fraudulent credit cards, and users are seeing their gifts revoked. Use common sense when trading, and watch out for users that seem to have an endless supply of Humble Bundles to trade with offers too good to be true. If you traded for a Humble Bundle and it was removed, please leave appropriate feedback for the user to warn others.

1 decade ago*

And please remember people, if a deal seems too good to be true? It probably is. People selling BTAs of weeklies for prices of 2 keys/1 key, even less? They are probably obtained through Credit Card Fraud.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Its a new low when people scam a company which is donating its money to charity!

Hope in humanity lost :/

1 decade ago
Permalink

seriously? people actually pull for that crap with charity? :) they rarely do , and if the do they do a percentage that would otherwise be taxes ... c'mon wake up people , does anyone do anything just out of the goodness of their heart? :P

1 decade ago
Permalink

this. they get % for "sales" and they not need to pay any taxes for that % because they "donate" the other % for charity in his own name.
that why there are so many bundles page. they get a lot of money for nothing.

1 decade ago
Permalink

It's hip to be a cynic these days huh? Think yourself cool and all? Sorry, you're boring and predictable at this point.

The guy who started the Humble Bundle obviously had great intentions, and the whole DRM-free + Linux + charity thing just screamed idealism and flew in the face of the mindset of the whole gaming industry at the time. He started a revolution. But hey, keep believing it was just for the money.

Now that it's a company churning out bundle after bundle the charity aspect might be less important, but they still could do like everybody else and, you know, not donate to charity. And line their pockets instead. There are more efficient ways to avoid taxes than charitable donations.

1 decade ago
Permalink

+1 They started a movement that was needed for Idie Developpers and now for even AAA games that are not gettin any love for a while.

1 decade ago
Permalink

"started" is the key word here. Now they are just an ordinary money-making business that sells all kind of indie or AAA, drm or no, steam or no... whatever if it just sells at discount bin/cheap price.

How naive to think that charity would be still there as option if it didn't rise sales.

1 decade ago
Permalink

yeah yeah sure with % by default 75% dev 10% humble 15% charity.... they are so good

1 decade ago
Permalink

How is that greedy? Dev gets most profit and HB gets the tiniest bit to keep up operations.

1 decade ago
Permalink

yes it's % but that % is deducted from the taxes they have to pay ... so they said "hmm , would fools buy better if they see we donate to charity? And why not do it ? because if not charity we have to pay that % ask taxes anyway"

I don't like being teached economics , but please read your country legislation. It's all explained there if you know how to interpretate it.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Every charity donation anyone makes is 'selfish' in principle, so finding better places to obtain charitable donations than asking people on street corners is a good thing.

Also an economics lesson They don't pay tax on the charity donation but they do pay tax on their profit.

1 decade ago
Permalink

yes indeed they pay tax from their profit in my country 16% , but from that you can done 4% to charity , if that isn't more than 4/1000 of your total financial income and exits. Other countries have higher income taxes so that charity limit is higher.

1 decade ago
Permalink

yeah that "charity" is a scam

1 decade ago
Permalink

And please remember people, if a deal seems too good to be true? It probably is.

You sure about that? :P

1 decade ago

Call of Duty Ghosts for $28 was too good to be true... But oh, was it true...

I think you misunderstood me.

Doesn't matter, I still love you.

Or in other word:

And please remember people, if a deal seems too good to be true? It probably is [not true].

1 decade ago
Permalink

thank you, sherlock. u cracked the case -_-
just wrote this cuz of avatar :D

1 decade ago
Permalink

Thank you, I have seen this go on long enough, I could list a few traders who are involved in the stated above, but it might be pointless, as most people are likely only after the steam keys anyways (Since they don't get revoked), and do not care sadly.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I had this happen to me just yesterday. Is there any way to get the lost games back?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Did the steam games get revoked from your account? I haven't heard of that happening. If you're looking to get a replacement bundle, there's nothing you can do, but you should report the person who scammed you.

1 decade ago
Permalink

The games I already activated didn't, but I can't access the games I didn't redeem. Everytime I try and click on my humble bumble URL, it redirects me to a page which tells me that I have an unknown key. I've been trying to contact support, but I haven't recieved any replies yet for some reason. :I

1 decade ago
Permalink

There is nothing you can do, you have been scammed. You should post a link to the guy's sales thread here so people avoid doing business with him.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Thats mine, i scammed too. I talk with you and try to fix it, this person (Jacques) scammed all. Sorry :( .

Currently working with Kaotiko to sort this out, he is being incredibly helpful and helping repay me for the games I lost. +repx100

I bought it from a steam user I found on ssteamtrades and my links dont work anymore

1 decade ago
Permalink

Go to his profile delete your feedback and do a new one with negative feedback. Also report on steamrep. Everybody should do that. If you got feedback from him you have a link to his profile on yours.

1 decade ago
Permalink

lol

1 decade ago
Permalink

Same happened to me.
I traded with a guy for 2 gift urls Warner Bros Bundle (the price anyway wasn't extremely low to suspect about a scam).
I added a gift url to my humble library and the other one sent to a friend (not added to library, but simply redeemed to mail).

Today from my humble library the WB Bundle disappeared (still in steam library anyway),but both links of page keys of humble order say "bad key" "Unknown Key!Sorry I could not find this key." so I cannot see my products there and my friend cannot activate them on steam obviusly.

I wanna ask if someone who contacted humble support about this problem received an answer and if there's a way to repair that.

Also if is possible, we should make a list of who has this problem writing the users involved with the trade, so people can be careful seeing a "blacklist" of user not trustable in this kind of trades. (not all users who exchange gift url are scammer, I didn't have problem in past when I traded with another guy)

1 decade ago
Permalink

There would be Steamrep, but they don't handle trades involving keys...

1 decade ago
Permalink

Exact. I know. I was asking because of this :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Those steamrep guys are lazy bastards, 90% of scams are invloving keys, if you don't bother review these cases then they might as well shutdown the damn website..

1 decade ago
Permalink

completely agree

1 decade ago
Permalink

They even refuse to investigate obvious scams, when one person paid in TF2 keys and was supposed to get steam key, but didn't receive it. SteamRep will not handle this, because, OH A KEY!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Indeed! checking someones steamrep is utterly pointless if they do not handle those scammers

1 decade ago
Permalink

Search on forum for threads with the id or nick on title?
It seems that lately they don't review anything.
My impersonator stays unmarked 1 month later and didn't got a single reply.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Well, you can do that anywhere. Don't need SR for that. Also, the way it is now, they pretty much only handle item for item trades, while those are already covered by Steam's ToS (supposedly at least). So you can get your item back in case of CC fraud or anything like that.

SR doesn't really have any advantage right now over any other site/forum. As with an itm for item trade, I honestly don't care that much about rep (as I will get my item back, worst case scenario). While with keys, there is this trust barrier. In which ST currently has a better system than SR has.

1 decade ago
Permalink

thats not completely true. there were cases where steamrep at least marked someone because of key scams. if enough people would report, steamrep would probably at least do that.

1 decade ago
Permalink

same thing happened to my with this guy http://www.steamtrades.com/user/VaSoOo report him so more pepole understand that he uses a bad credit card

1 decade ago
Permalink

I tried warn people but nobody would listen, check the steamrep if you'd like to know the details.

In any case, Jacqhues does this sort of thing all the time and he gets away with it because most people don't know or simply don't care.

1 decade ago
Permalink

And I could list a few more too, who added me yesterday for my 3 key offer.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Damn, it's scary that Jacqhues has so much positive rep. If someone's rep is that high, I usually don't even bother checking Steamrep.

Edit: I clicked on his steamrep page and I love how there is absolutely no mention of his scams. Wonderful. -__-

1 decade ago
Permalink

Steamrep is now borderline-useless, since they now will not bother review ANY case that involves game keys...

1 decade ago
Permalink

Well shit, they just become incredibly useless. Did they say why?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Because they are lazy? It seems they have such a huge load of cases, so instead of figuring a way to deal with that load, they decided to do nothing about it..

1 decade ago
Permalink

Why do you rejected that the thread in steamrep?Because I'm not scammer or credit card fraud.I bought a lot of humble bundle packs with my credit card. And My credit card was suspected by the site.I bought some packages have their money returned. So humblebundle was deleted by selling the packages.I'm telling you again 'I'm not scammer'!(Im sorry.I have not good english.I hope you can tell by me.)

1 decade ago
Permalink

A not-scammer would refund people, you just remove people from your friends list, set your profile to private and leave negative review back to everyone calling you scammer. This is what you are, you're not the Heisenberg style, you're just scamming people for a hundred dollars or less. Enjoy your banishment.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I still have my links from trading with this Jacqhues..

1 decade ago
Permalink

The bundle provider, whoever he is, probably uses many credit cards to buy humble bundle, then he asks guys like Jacqhues to resell them, leaving him coins. Your bundle must have been bought with a credit card uncancelled yet, everyone don't check his bank account every day so it may take a moment before the owner of the card asks his bank for a refund.

Save what you want to save and remove him from your friendlist... just kidding, he already did.

1 decade ago
Permalink

The reason why they rejected the case is they will not bother review ANY case involving game keys anymore, not because they found you innocent..

Here is their notice:
http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/notice-changes-to-investigation-policy.47952/

PS: you're giving people "revenge rep" which is a against the rules.

1 decade ago
Permalink

So, all you can do is give FAKE revenge feedback to honest people? It's bad enough that you were scamming money that was supposed to go to charity, but now this? That's a new low, even for you..

Well, you've just been reported and hopefully they'll suspend your account soon enough!

1 decade ago
Permalink

I did multiple trades with him too, though he was a pretty cool guy. Bought a couple of bundles. None of them revoked. Could it be because I claimed the keys on my Steam account (I don't own a HB account) instantly after getting the URL? Also, I was going to buy more bundles from him today, but then I noticed that he removed me and set his profile to private and then found out he's one of "them".

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yeah, in my case and others as well, I had bought from him a gift url not just steam keys, and the url got removed from my humble account the next day.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I bought from a guy HB WB BTA for 2.5key and claimed on my account but now it vanish :(
2.5key is regular price right?

np, good luck.

1 decade ago

He has high rep because he was selling steam keys, so people who got them didn't know anything was wrong.

1 decade ago
Permalink

167 rep in 4 weeks

1 decade ago
Permalink

+1 same when sellers buy on demand especially from RU. they sell quick pile up rep and if ur game gets locked tough shit. With buying on demand from ru traders and these you can rake up +rep like a mofo

1 decade ago
Permalink

I guess Humble Bundle will remove the "Pay with Credit Card" option soon. They had Google Wallet that worked with Credit Cards, so if Google Wallet comes back, they won't have to keep that "Credit Card" option, I guess.

1 decade ago
Permalink

If someone does a charge back or credit card fraud, it doesn't matter if they paid directly with their CC or through Google Wallet or Paypal. The only kind of payment that's non-cancellable is Bitcoins.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Or PaySafeCard so I can finally stop relying on random people XD

1 decade ago

I love you.

1 decade ago

Or just use Bitcoin... I always use em to buy HB instead of credit cards :D

Got offer WB BTA for only 1 key only, he had clean rep, 15pages of +rep in profile, 32lvl on steam (i thought maybe he quicksells..) and still his url was removed (Unknown key). Activated 3 games from url and they wasnt removed from library, but still it doesnt feels good to have games who was bought to help charity but then revoked.. I hope only that my acc wont be infected in any way. I will definetly report him with all chat photos.
Watch out for those ***.

1 decade ago
Permalink

+1 i buy Bundles for friends to this person and same problem, and when a friend say to me "i dont need it" i try to sell it here and now 1 person say im scammed, when this person scammed me...

This person are -> http://www.steamtrades.com/user/Jacqhues

1 decade ago

I guy sold me a BTA WB BUNDLE for 1KEY to and he had lots of rep to (5pgs) and the code worked for a day but then the next day I WENT TO CHECK THE CODE SAID INVALID/UNKOWN

1 decade ago

I don't mean to be rude but if you want to help charity via the HB, then you should buy them yourself, except maybe for some older ones you didn't know about.

1 decade ago

finally a PSA about that on here. this fraud is going for way too long now :|

1 decade ago

hello

http://www.steamtrades.com/user/Jacqhues

He scammed hundreds of persons and put -rep to this persons (include me), NEED ALL PUT -REP to this person, i lose a lot of money, i try to talk with him to fix it (because the bundles i buy to him dont works) and delete me of friendlist, put private profile (typical scammers) and put me -rep.

This person have got 400 games and 100 keys and use a stolen Credit Card, BE CAREFUL.

I got one too, My daedalic humble bundle unknown key, So sad, here its the steam profile

I think i dont get scammed, well there is first time for everything, and he said in steam chat, be carefull sometimes Humble Bundle page can disappear, what a bullock

1 decade ago
Permalink

Did he said that bundle page can dissapear before trade ? :D

1 decade ago
Permalink

yep, what i am more afraid is steam will banned me, oh lord gaben please deliver me form this ordeal, if you need proof i'll just need to upload the chat, thank god i still have the chat log/image

1 decade ago

Then its more than 50% your fault that you've been scammed.. If pizza guy comes to your house and says that pizza can dissapear after you give him money and take pizza box, - Would you still give him money ??? Well thats your first time you have been scammed, but next time dont believe sh*t they talk. He told that becouse he didnt wanted to be reported and you believed. Most of them are always trying new ways to scamm, but those ways always are not so smart.
Trading CD Keys is always a risk.. Good Luck to you next time ;)

1 decade ago

i sell for 2 x keys some ppl sell for 1 key i see its interesting.

1 decade ago

short note : please people come to your fcking senses who wants to sell something and LOSE money to sell it? isn't it obvious enough?

i bought it for reasonable price, not anything lower than the store, yet i am being scammed

Btw guys what if somebody add games to steam from this refund bundles they gonna be remove from account or what?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Better be prepared for it. Play it to death now just in case.

1 decade ago
Permalink

nope they wont be removed just get the link activate fast then games wont be deleted :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Has anyone had their redeemed games removed from steam that they bought from one of these guys?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Not yet.I really don't know what to do.I need to buy a new bundle, but should I wait to see if they delete my games so I can add the new ones or can I just give them XD

1 decade ago
Permalink

nope not do able u activate the game then no one can do anything about it :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

you mean after you activate it there is no way steam take it out cuz if you take a time to think about it what could be done about this is:

steam keys used from those fraudulent bundles could easily removed by steam just extracting those games from users library, why this is not a possibility ??

1 decade ago
Permalink

not sure what you mean but i don't think bundle keys steam remove :) atleast not the old bundles

1 decade ago
Permalink

What's most retarded is that Steamrep refuses to handle these cases. Or key scams, which comprise like 90% of all scams. What a useless website.

1 decade ago
Permalink

+1, in many cases scam is obvious, like with these bundles. You got screen from trade and link they gave you. It doesn't work anymore, so you know it's fraud.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I gave negative rep to an user for that reason and he made 7 friends leave negative rep on my profile, now I have 8 unfair rep on my profile. That's why leaving negative feedback is never a good option, even if it's fair...

1 decade ago
Permalink

Those who scam from charity is the worst kind of people, and adding to that they put negative rep to those who get scammed by them, they are absolutely the worst, they are not human being, they are animals

1 decade ago
Permalink

Make a support ticket. You can get them all suspended for feedback fraud.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yeah, I made it about a week ago. The worst part is that people reject trading with me because of that negative rep ._. and if they get banned, I'm sure he will keep calling friends

1 decade ago
Permalink

OMG, I got -Rep becouse I didnt want trade with some kid, but your case is ridiculous.. All comments in your page is copy/paste style (I even bet there's also alternative acc's of this scammer) and all of them is written in damaged english.. I even wasnt able to understand why they -Rep you.. Even if they scammers friends or as they say that you're "Bad player" they dont have right -Rep you. YOU SHOULD DEFINETLY CONTACT SUPPORT FOR THOSE -REP ERASURE. I hope this is your last scammer, GL.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I know, I already contacted the support. BTW, if the guy gave you negative rep because you didn't want to trade with him, you can also report him too.

1 decade ago

i just getting scammed yesterday, i pay grid 2 and he give 2 BTA url link to me, and when i want to reedem it, its say badkey
WTF. and i ask him, he say it need to use as soon as possible or will be expired :(

Link the profile, so everyone can see him.

1 decade ago

i have min rep him, so what to do now??

1 decade ago

You should demand your money back, if he doesn't give you your money back, then you've been officially scammed, you can only hope that future people don't trade with him.

1 decade ago

i don't pay him with tf keys or paypal i pay him with grid 2, i buy grid 2 for 2 tf2 keys
:(

1 decade ago

1 decade ago

ok :)

1 decade ago

You give him Grid 2, that everyone and their dog can get free on facebook and you expect 2 working HIB BTA urls ...

If it was that easy...
"You are not in one of the selected countries to be eligible to win"
Only like couple rich countries are allowed to get free game. I would even pay for it.

1 decade ago

This was most likely the reason of why this shit happens.
I suggest to ban to all the people who "found it"

I just noticed last weeks bundle the team 17 with worms games one just dissaperead from my humble bundle library.
i got it from this guy http://www.steamtrades.com/user/ShackAttack
http://steamcommunity.com/id/dididothat97
be careful fellows i changed my +rep to -rep but other than that he only had positive reviews.

1 decade ago
Permalink

It was because my home address was changed and i didnt know that and because if you type on the credit card info anything wrong it will first work and later it will show u an uknown key.One guy hade the same problem with me and later i fixed it and know he has those games forever!

1 decade ago
Permalink

I'm done. Not trading again for these, too dangerous and even normal offers can be a scam.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yes, i receive normal offers on HB and guess what? its scammed tactics used by those people. They even dare to use Fraud CC

1 decade ago
Permalink

Not everyone trading this is a fraudster. I'm traded a few already and everyone who traded with me is happily playing their games.

1 decade ago
Permalink

This Guy is a scammer too cagador1

he took my Humble Bundle Keys first and said they didn't work so I bought another Humble Bundle set and they were used also by him and he still said they didn't work... so I lost like 9 dollar -.-

1 decade ago
Permalink

As much as that does suck, this thread is meant to inform, and let other users inform other users about scammers committing credit card fraud to buy bundles. The person who scammed you is not involved in said activities.

1 decade ago

I have thus cheated 56 tf2 KEY, please be careful

He lied to my key. gave me -REP

1 decade ago

he is interesting :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

I understand about credit card fraud but I'm haveing trouble with 3 WB BTA bundle URL's that I purchased myself. My credit card is valid and I have never had any trouble with purchasing anything before. I have even used it to buy things the day of and the day after this happened and I didn't have any trouble. I have the Email receipts for my purchases that include the URL's and I have emailed HB support but the only response I have gotten is that they're experiencing higher than normal emails volumes and that it could take 2-3 days for them to get to my email. Hopefully things work out and I get my HB's back.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yes, that's the problem, heavy load. I sent them emails 5 days ago and only got a reply yesterday.

1 decade ago
Permalink

i traded 3 terraria for 3 bundle...
all disappear...but he still dealing with good manner

1 decade ago
Permalink

yeah actually this guy has a thread where doesnt sell humble urls. He is looking for gifts. Once you tell him you have the gift he wants, he offers a bta bundle. Most of these people ask you to check the url to see if it works and tell you to activate it instantly since they know its going to dissapear. He gave me the url, he asked me to check, i was so weirded out i told him ill let you know in an hour if it dissapears. He gave me back my game gifts. I had already added 2 games when i noticed it. So i waited it out and eventually the url dissapeared. I bought the url again from a legit person. I dont know if the games will dissapear from my steam library. But you should all block these people.

1 decade ago

bad luck on dealing with those seller....dont trust on rep....since it can be bought...

I just leaving it here - https://www.facebook.com/humblebundle/posts/619567814753193 . Seems to me that its not fault of traders, but the fault of HB. This guy bought the bundle by himself, but its disappear.

Lucky for me all game trades from humblebundle have been legit. If there is a good humblebundle on sale, you might want to wait for 2-3 weeks after the bundle sale has ended before trading for them. Give sometime for the CC companies to sort out the fraud.

Yeah, this is a good way to know you are not helping the scammer to commit fraud.

1 decade ago
Permalink

he's probably commiting CC fraud, why would it be necessary to activate the bundle in less than 90 minutes if it was legit?
I think these users should be investigated, and banned if necessary

1 decade ago

This is most definitely a SCAM, a legitimate purchase for any bundle will NEVER disappear, don't support this fraudulent behavior. You should report it instead.

So how can we know now who are legit trader and who arent :S
I mean, ok, if you see someone trading a 6$ bundle for 2 keys he is a scammer but what if instead of 2keys he is asking for 3? If 2 keys are too obvious he will just try to scam you 3 keys instead of 2 -.-"
And I dont know even if we can trust the rep since even people with +100 turned out to be scammers.

This is all fucked up right now.. extreme precautions with HB trades from now on I guess, but I ve trade with a few guys with <20 rep withouth any problem whatsoever, 3 Keys for a bundle, and now I dont know if I could trust people offering me HB even at fair prices..

i guess i have to buy it from my friends in my own country who also play steam games too, that way i wont get scammed

How are people doing this scam? If they are repeatedly charging back their credit cards, wouldn't the credit card company figure it out? I'm just surprised that people are able to charge-back continuously with no repercussions.

1 decade ago
Permalink

They most likely have several stolen cards and buy many bundles with each card. The person who really owns the card notices these transactions and gets their money back from the bank, who take the money back from the bundle guys, who deactivate the keys.

Hey guys, be careful with this dude, he scammed me. I told him that the url he gave was revoked and the next that I get to know is that he deleted me from Steam. Even the humble bundle supp told me that the key was revoked 'cause the purchase was found as fraudulent by their credit card department.

Tried to add him again and get back my stuff, but he wouldn't accept the invitavion.

WHAT? I buy to you bundles for my friends and if a friend of mine dont need it resell for 1 or 2 tf2keys, is the reason i have got a big problem because 80% of your bundles dont works and my friends wants their money, so return to me tf2keys now to return to my friends for bundles down work! Was my money! Accept my invite and return to me all MY TF2KEYS.

If im a scammer i dont return the tf2keys to the ppl who use your ILEGAL BUNDLES, i delete all the ppl and buy games with the money of others LIKE YOU, and i dont do it because im loyal trader for a long time. THIEF!.

Return my TF2KEYS now.

¿Nothing can help me with this "person"?

You guys being scammed make sure to report them to SteamTrades/SteamGifts support.

SteamRep is not dealing with these kind of scams anymore Notice: Changes to Investigation Policy
It's basically a GO FLAG for this type of scam to happen even more.

Thanks for the info. +rep to u!

1 decade ago
Permalink

what are you doing? the rep system is for trades, not for being nice or for giving someone information. you cannot give someone +rep, just because you are thankful for 2 lines of text. sorry, KBoomDUMAL, i hope you understand that. people on steamtrades constantly abuse the rep system. if you had a trade, give a +/- rep. if you didn't trade - then don't give rep.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Agree in all, i quit it.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Sure, no problem showing appreciation for some info in a topic, but rep feedback is only for the trades :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

thanks, at least some guys here understand the rep system. much appreciated. i hate how many try to abuse it. there were even guys some time ago, who "traded" dota 2 gifts for rep. ^^
