UPDATE 15 April: a fine detective work by FyreFlareon, and some help from the community seemingly able to locate Monochrome Fire's exact location. If someone in Perth Australia interested in practicing his long unused kung-fu technique, reply here.

|

Edit: this thread seems to reveal other victims that previously held their voice just because the high +rep and calming promises of the scammer. Although not much hard evidence have been given by those, but the amount of additional reports itself should act as a sign not to trade with Monochrome Fire.

Let this be a lesson for the community. It's an expensive lesson, I feel sorry to those who paid the price.

The victim, a good friend of mine and a very nice person:

I can testify to his trustworthyness and upon request give proof that on so many occasion done trades where i went first tranferring money more than $100.

The highly suspected scammer:

On 28 Mar my friend gave 73 tf2 keys to suspected scammer, with the latter promising to send paypal $$ afterwards.
My friend never received the money, with the latter saying that he sent the money to the wrong address, promising that he'll need to resolve it with Paypal and asking for 2-3 days.
Until this very second, the latter refused to show any proof that he was indeed sent money to the wrong address, nor shows any sincere intention to resolve the issue.

Proofs:
see the attached picture in here for full conversation.
see the main parts in text format for easy reading.
proof of 73 keys moving between inventories.

In a spirit to keep the trading community clean off scams, which will contribute to a better world overall, I would urge people not to trade with the latter and bump this thread to show your support, and admin(s) to ban the latter's account so he can't do harm to others.

To MonochromeFire, please proof your innocence and good intention by at least showing the proof that you send the money to the wrong address, and you filed that support ticket with paypal.

I'll just have to assume we hit a wall, and we're basically done here. Shame. Scumbag gets away with it, and we all get to eat dirt.

Well, he stole my Thief 2014 like 2 months ago. First he told me that he'll give me TF2 keys, but later he asked if he could give me some game. I accepted it and lost my Thief 2014. Shame on you! Also, 3 weeks are over.

I couldn't finish my story because I was sleepy. Basically, he was looking for Thief 2014 and I had it. He had a lot of good reputation and none negative. He also was an Admin of one really cool giveaway group so I trusted him. I messaged him because he was in my friends list already. He was interested but said that he does't have keys at the moment and asked if I want some game for it. I said yes because I really wanted Skyrim LE. He agreed and I gave him the key. After that he said that it will take some days to get the game. I messaged him every day but he told me to wait. Then, one day he messaged me and told that he is starting CD-Key site and needs my help to see if some features work. I helped him and then he wanted me to promote his site. I did it too. He said thanks and told me that I'll get my game in some days. (He asked if I really want Skyrim LE. I choosed LEGO Movie instead) I waited and waited and waited but nothing happened. Then, when I was loosing my hope I told him that I want my game. I even called him scammer. He said that he was going to give me the game, but as I called him scammer, he won't give me anything. I apologized and then he was normal again. Then I asked more about my game and he told me to wait, again. About 1.5 months ago I wanted to message him again, but he was offline. I went to his profile and saw that he had written "Will be on holidays for 3 weeks, cya when I get back...." I waited 3 weeks and he was still offline. A I found here, he said that he'll be back on 9 May. It was 21 days ago!! I'm really sorry about other people who lost a lot of money, when I only lost my game. I really don't care about refund anymore (I still would like it though) I just want to say this f*cking bastard that he is an idiot. Total idiot. I would be happy if he would be banned from Steam. I hope it happens once. I was afraid to give him -Rep, as he told me that I get my game soon. Now I know that he doesn't care and easily gave him -Rep. Shame on you Monochrome Fire!

So ~ if anybody has been keeping track, one may notice his "Last Online: 62 days ago!" Truth be told, momma Fire found out about his shenanigans and took away all his computing privileges. Evidently he has a history of being a little brat, and after some local visits from others, he may never be allowed on a computer until he's on his own. Word has it that she was very quick to believe how much of a douche he was. Apparently he's the worst kind of kid IRL too! Suffice to say, we probably won't be seeing him again.

Ummm... Something is still unclear to me. Word has it that she was very quick to believe how much of a douche he was. Was he/she she or he? :)
