-rep Trader who did not care and honoured his side of the trade.
TLDR: Trader did not check and gave me a region locked key. He did not want to rectify the mistake and asked me to trade the region locked key with other traders to get one that works for my region.
Sequence of events:
He agreed to trade 3 games for 1 of my games. Got 2 keys that work but 1 key did not. Turns out that the 1 key is regioned locked (the region is not my region)
I let him know that the key is region locked. He mentioned that he did ask me for my region (which he did and I gave him my region). After some discussion and research, turns out that it was his mistake and he did not check it. I let him know what is supposed to happen (gave him 2 options: replace the key or give me another key for an entirely another game not in the deal).
Long story short, he just asked me to take the region locked key and trade it with someone else for another one that works for my region.
Reply to the trader's comment about me being uncooperative when offered another game key:
He confirmed that the key was ROW according to him. I explained to him that if he is so sure that it is ROW, I would take that key.
He had a misunderstanding that i was talking about the Cassette Beasts key (He also confirmed that it was ROW and after some time, he found out it was not ROW and region locked).
I took the time to explain to him what I was talking about. He then state that he would pay me through paypal $1.02 for the game value. I state that I trade for my personal collection (not for profit) and he could just gift me the game through steam. My question to this is: Why can't he just buy the game using the $1.02 and give me the game? (Added on 12 Dec 2024: To clarify on this point, I only stated that he could gift me the game on steam. If he feels that steam is too expensive, then trade for it or just buy 1 off other platforms. My intention was to give them a solution to this problem. However, he did not want to do it as seen from my point made below.)
He also state that he wants me to trade the region locked key. For me personally, I believe that it is his mistake and I should not be cleaning it up. For others trading for a long time too, I believe that most of us know what a hassle it is to trade other people's key which they claimed work, only for it not to. I believe that it is not worth risking my rep for.
