There are moments in life when something small brings back everything.
I bought this game not expecting much, maybe a few hours of nostalgia, a bit of fun. But as soon as I started it, memories came flooding back. It wasn’t just a game. It was the game my dad and I used to play together when I was a kid.
We didn’t have a lot back then. My dad worked long hours, often came home late and exhausted. But every once in a while, he’d sit down next to me, pick up a controller, and for a while, he wasn’t tired anymore. For those precious hours, he was just Dad, laughing, shouting at the screen, giving me high-fives when we beat a level. Those nights were rare, but they meant everything to me.
He’s gone now. It’s been years, and I thought I had made peace with that. But when I started this game again, something broke open inside me. I feel as if he was sitting next to me like he used to. I was stuck at the intro of game, just sat there and had to think for a bit.
Sometimes healing comes from the most unexpected places.
I want to thank the trader who made this possible. You didn’t just sell me a game, you know? You gave me a moment with my father I thought I’d lost forever. It was a fair price and you were kind enough to have a conversation with me.
