A few weeks ago I traded for a steam key code for Pillars of Eternity from this trader. I intended to use the game in a giveaway here. At the time of the trade I verified that the code was for Pillars of Eternity by trying it on my account which already owned the game, showing me it was indeed for the game. However, once the giveaway ended, I eventually got feedback and screenshots showing that the game was a duplicate product key. Which can only be tested by trying the key on an account where it can successfully activate (doesn't own it).

I attempted to reach out to this trader multiple times over the course of a week, submitting friend requests several times while they were flagged as online. I also posted on their trade thread requesting they get in touch. None of my requests were accepted, and my posts on their trade thread were ignored.Since I cannot get ahold of this user after the key turned out to not work, the thought has crossed my mind that they might have known that when they traded. Either way, I am left with a worthless key which I traded a valuable game for which is now on their account. Meanwhile, I've had to get an additional copy of the game to use as a gift so that I could fulfill my giveaway.

If I had gotten a working game this would not have been an issue, but the avoidance of communication after the fact makes it seem even worse. I don't give negative feedback lightly and you can see from my profile that I'm an active and upstanding member of the SG community with hundreds of gifts sent and modest trade feedback.

Chlrkd79: If you read this and want to communicate now just send me a friend request.
