Terrible experience. I honestly don't like giving out -REP, but decided to do so less to punish this trader (tobi2112/Angel of Death) and more to warn the community of my experience trading with him, so they can make an informed decision if they have a similar experience.

I'll be short. tobi2112 and myself agreed on a trade about a week ago. This trade was for his Barotrauma vs my Project Wingman.

I sent him an invite, he accepted the invite I believe the same day, but I never heard from him. This is normal, as sometimes traders can't do the trades on the same day and need a weekend or so to free up some time to do so. Totally normal.

After about almost a week of not hearing from him, I sent him a message asking him if he was still interested in the trade. He sends me a message the next day claiming he was stressed out but was still interested in the trade. I was totally cool with this excuse because life can sometimes suck and can make you totally forget commitments.

From here, I went ahead and sent him a list of the region restrictions on project wingman (I almost posted the key in the chat afterwards, thank God I didn't).

Crickets. Didn't hear from him for a while after this.

So I went onto his steam trades page to see if he was active or really just very busy. As it turns out, he was very busy every day, trading with multiple users and even humoring offers for the game he agreed to trade with me.

Maybe one can argue he had multiple copies of the game. I doubt it, but it doesn't change the fact that while I was waiting for him to do our trade, he was ignoring me.

Mind you, I had other offers for the game that I had to turn down because I was certain he was committed. So I sent him one final message asking him to please let me know if he's still interested, and it wasn't cool to be conducting other trades while leaving me hanging.

At this point, after a few days, he removes me from his friend list.

Thankfully, I did end up getting the game from another trader, but if he does to you what he did to me, you might not be so lucky.

Would I trade with him again? Hell no, I've already blocked him, so I'm protected.

Do I recommend you do so? If he commits to the trade (as he has done with other users) and goes first with the key then go right ahead, but DO NOT just leave your key in the trade expecting a response, depending on his mood, you might have to wait weeks before he finally commits, or worse, you don't get a response at all.

If you experience similar wait times like I did, you may have to abandon the trade, don't turn down other offers simply because you think he will hold his end of the bargain because he might not.

No games were lost in this trade though, so if the community decides that ghosting people is tolerated on this site, then you're in luck, keep on ghosting. I'm just doing my part to ensure that everyone has a great trading experience. So my work here is done.

And next time tobi2112/Angel of Death, if you don't want to do a trade, just say no. It'll save you a lot of trouble and -REP. :)
