Actually I have an idea what's going on here. The OP is trying to catch the special non-red region free DOTAs in the bunch he'll be getting. Those are fairly valuable still. So do yourself a favor and examine your DOTAs for red text. If it doesn't say "except China" you probably want to hold on to it.
Yes. China is crazy about DOTA. And most Steam DOTA invites don't work there. These special ones do. If your gift doesn't say "except in China" in red letters then it works in China!
