I already got the games I was looking for in the meantime though sorry, if you are looking for a good rpg I would suggest Divinity Original Sin EE currently on sale. Grabbed it during the black friday sale for the same price and have been really enjoying.

Magicka 2 is all about magic and combining spells to create other spells. The magic mechanics are pretty cool, and it's a fun co-op game. But​ if you're looking for something closer to Skyrim, then Risen/Risen 2 are closer to that. I haven't played Risen 1, but I know there is magic in it and it's more medieval than Risen 2. Risen 2 has a pirate theme and voodoo-themed magic.
I haven't played the last two games yet, but I'd say Van Helsing is more like Diablo. And X-Blades looked like something more akin to God of War. I didn't really care for God of War, so I didn't look too into X-Blades, so I don't know how involved the magic system is. Probably not what you're looking for.

The title most appropriate out of the games in my list would be The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: final cut, I think. It really depends on what you're looking for, nothing is just RPG these days.
