The CE key allows you access to the bunny mini-pet (http://terraria.wikia.com/wiki/Pet_Bunny) (in addition to the game of course), not normally found in the regular or steam purchased editions.

Aye, its sold in retail box form over in Europe, and adds a Carrot item to your inventory for all of your characters which summons a pet bunny that follows you around. The bunny changes colors to match what you colored your characters shirt.
