gone )--van--( scammed the crap outta me traded for rainbow 6 siege got guns of icarus what a peice of s%*t and has the sack to block my ass
Steam support is hit or miss. The best you can do is -rep his profile and send a ticket and hope for the best. Good luck to you.
He will just remove the -rep on his profile. So no point in that really. Never look at the steam profile reps for trades, most are fake as they can be easily manipulated.
I meant on steamgifts. I hate to be the negative one but there's pretty much no hope for OP. Especially if siege was for uplay.
Guess I misunderstood you. But from what I know, the guy who scammed him didnt have a steamgifts page, he just added OP through steam.
Since I don't see a post of him here on your thread I am guessing he contacted you directly randomly ?
Also , did you screenshot the transaction?
And did you check if he even had/has a rep page on this site?
Its a learning experience xD
Just be more careful is all when trading high end items.
Make sure to report him though still. But since its not a trade window transaction I don't think Steam gets involved on it.
Also just as a precaution, I would suggest you take screenshots of all your chats for trades, when just starting trading (until you are experienced). That's what I did back when I just started trading (it forces you to make better background checks on the person when you trade also)
You can get steam support to remove the game from his library (but won't get it back). If you have prove of purchase and sufficient evidence of giving him the game.
If he bought it himself he could even force a claim through bank or paypal (not recommended since that is basically declaring war on Steam or the purchase site.) and claim it as Stolen... which it technically is.
I have only done this against one company. Frontier for Elite Dangerous. But they are crooks and deserved it.
never took a screenshoot as my pc was being a little bitch at the time so not much else I can do now
I would suggest contacting a steam rep directly and seeing if the purchase can be refunded or something like that if you made the original purchase on Steam.
If you weren't the original owner then idk if there is anything to be done at all. But if you are then i would contact support and explain what happened and see if anything can be done.
If you are trading those trading cards, I have some game keys if you are interested.
Again. Sorry that you got scammed. For the most part this community is actually pretty nice. Hopefully this doesn't drive you away from it.
Like the other guy said. If you need any help , feel free to ask.
There are plenty of people that wouldn't scam you here, it's kind of your fault, this guy just added you randomly, you didnt check steamgifts rep (rep on steam profile is easily faked) or check anything about him and you went first with the trade(not saying that is wrong but why would you do that if you don't know if he is legit or not). People like him are scum you are right about that, but you can really easily avoid scammers, if they have low steamgifts rep then just tell them to go first, but you didn't take any precautions.
whoa damn look man I realise its MY fault you clown those PLENTY wanted nothing to do with my trade otherwise it would have been traded on this site and here is his steamrep url http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198027251314 I had a look and seemed legit
He has 3 uncofirmed reports (probably because they now only deal with steam gifts scam and not keys and paypal) so how does that look legit? Look i am not trying to be mean here, but scammers here are a rare occurence because like i said rep can't be faked really on here and if someone leaves negative rep on someone elses profile they can't remove it themselves, all i'm trying to say is that steamgifts is probably one of the safest places to trade, and i'm sorry that you got scammed.
