Keys can almost always be revoked. Even when you buy from Amazon, you can chargeback.

As always, trade with a reputable person and you should be OK. If you are trading with someone with VERY LITTLE rep, you are asking for trouble.

The Kickstarter was over two years ago, you can't chargeback after that long.

you can revoke keys on the developer website if you want to switch it for a GOG key instead of steam key
