Well, a friend owes me money but can't use paypal because he forgot the email address tied to the account. He can use his steam wallet, however, and I was hoping that someone who wants to buy something on steam anyway would be willing to make the arrangement through us so we can settle this. The help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I should note, I'm in the US, so it may save you a few cents for most regions but Russia, but the best deal will be for people in AU/NZ I guess, so if you're interested, let me know.

highly doubt this would happen as there are fees to pay for using paypal unless your friend wants to carry that burden and people would rather buy things with their own $8 dollars as they would also get a receipt and stuff. But good luck

Yeah, I know there's problems with it, and I also know that this would be unlikely to happen. Hopefully someone who has higher prices in their region would want to do this, or maybe someone who just feels generous ;)

And also, there are no fees if we're both in the US and he gives the payment as a gift ;)

but then both would have the same prices for steam stuff and again, he would be better by just buying the stuff by himself! :P

Yeah, pretty much just hoping someone would do this as a favor, I'd rather have the paypal money, and if someone's going to buy something from the steam store himself anyway, it would just be a kind gesture. Honestly not expecting anything, just put it out there on the off chance that someone felt like doing someone a favor ;)

you should stat what region your in. maybe you have a cheeper item or a game that is not in/cut in another region.

I'm in the US, shouldn't be much cheaper other than the dollar or two max that it would save people with euros/pounds as their currency since valve claims they're equal for a lot of games. But it would be a decent deal for AU, so there it could work (like when Dead Space 2 was 75% off, it was $5 in the US and $17.50 in AU/NZ).

Edit: I added my region to the OP.

Why the fuck would anyone do that? hahaha You could easily buy a game on Steam using that $8 Paypal, why would I want your Steam wallet? I can understand your $8 for $5-6 Paypal but 8 for 8?! Who's gonna gain from this? That's most ridiculous deal ever.

I'm not asking for a deal, I'm just trying to get money that someone owes me, if you read the above comments I say that I know it's not the most practical deal for anyone, I was just hoping someone who wants to buy the game for themselves for $8 anyway would go through me rather than steam just as a favor. Honestly not expecting anyone to do this, and eventually I'll probably just take the steam wallet, I was just putting this out there in case someone was wiling to do this as a kid gesture.

If you forget your Paypal email address, you're gonna have a bad time.

I didn't forget my paypal email address, he did, and he created a new account. The problem is that when you create a second paypal account for the same address used in the first, the account automatically locks and requires verification, which requires sending a copy of your passport to Paypal, and apparently it's a slow process for them to get back to you. And yeah, it'll probably be a problem for him in the future, but it's not necessary at the moment for what he does.
