First thing I always check is if the account is set to private, that normally is the first sign they are being less then honest.
Yeah, tons of impersonators around. Always cross-check the actual profile link with ST rep and Steamrep.
Steam rep is goodish, problem with this guy is he recently created his impersonation account and kept it hidden. Best course of action is never trade with private accounts.
Nothing wrong with private accounts backed by rep or even repless accounts when the trade is fully through the trade window. Someone's privacy is their own damn business in my book.
learned my lesson of course. I'm usually WAY more safe, I just happened to have my guard down and thought, "hey, maybe I can just trust my fellow man for a change here"
