Please don't get it wrong, I don't want to annoy you under any circumstances, I just thought that you might be interested in how it turned out and I wanted to ask you if everything is hopefully ok on your side as far as that?
Ultimately, with the help of Steam Support, I was able to determine the user who had sent me the "Vote for my Team" scam on Friday evening (back then) and also restore the chat history from that Friday evening with this user. I then wrote to the user directly on his profile page (it was the only way to get in contact with him) and he replied via my profile page and credibly told me again that he was only a victim himself (which I believe him too).
For security reasons I have this user on my block list.
The Steam support then finally informed me that they would investigate the incident again and take appropriate actions if necessary. However, I should understand that for data protection reasons they could not inform me further and that the case in my direction is closed for them.
Using the very helpful link that you sent me, I now regularly check whether there have been any further logins. Since the incident everything seems to be clean again and I only see my logins from my country and area.
Unfortunately, unsuccessful login attempts are probably not documented there so that they can be traced. It looks like changing the password locked out the hacker / scammer. I hope everything is okay with you too?
The -rep of the user StreetDog was fortunately deleted because it was hateful, defamatory, more than unfair and simply wrong.
I have also blocked this user on Steam and Barter and will hopefully never have anything to do with him again.
In conclusion, I can say that I have learned something for life again.
It was a mistake of mine to log into the "Vote for my Team" scam website without really thinking about it (and not realizing the scam) because I thought I was doing someone (someone I don't even know at all) a favor. Meanwhile I know that this "Vote for my Team" scam is apparently quite widespread and is not an unknown problem (other users on my friends list already knew this scam).
In return, I have noticed in the past few days that I have one or the other dear person on my friends list who encouraged me, was able to assist with the topic and was able to warn me about further steam scams and hacks. I am really very grateful to these people.
In any case, I would like to apologize to you once again for the circumstances that the whole case has caused you and thank you for your understanding and for making the right decision.
