Unfortunantly I am the guy who was scammed. I´m filing in a report on steamrep right now.
is his english good?
do you have chat protocol?
try to write more with hime and make a screenshot
Here's my steamrep report on him http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198100547066-mitooil-impersonator.38398/
You can see our coversation on the attached screenshot.
That guy adds me and asks want to trade skyrim key for Dota2keys..But the real mitooil is already on my friend list LOL
Dude, I´m glad that we managed to prevent more scams.
I´d also like to thank everybody who is helping us punishing him.
Oh no you didn't. I just got scammed by him.
And bumping a thread is not a solution.
This is a fundamental website flaw, that allows scammers to completely compromise whole reputation system and use it to their advantage. I wouldn't go first with my gift if it wasn't tokkei's +300 rep.
My main grudge is for Valve, who clearly doesn't take adequate measures against scammers, allowing them to commit repeated offends.
But here's what steamtrades admin can do:
1) Let a user add some text to their own rep page, so they can warn about possible impersonators there. This will discourage scammers from linking to other people's rep.
2)There is a link to steam profile on user's rep page, but I had no reason to click it before I new a threat of impersonation exists (read: got scammed). Add red text suggesting viewers to click it and see if it leads to correct treader.
2) At least sort rep comments so new ones are on top, not 8 pages away as it is now. This will allow users to warn each other about newly spotted threats.
these are good improvements, try to contact steamtrades support
maybe we will get this sometime
he just added me, lucky i found this
