reputation abuse has happened to me twice this week as well... i opened a ticket at steamgifts.com
I opened the ticket too. Negative rep is not a big deal though. Far worse is the fact that the impersonator can scam around without any problem using my reputation steamtrades profile.
1) Reading your thread
2) Checking out that profile thinking "what morons do trade with this guy?"
3) Realize i've repped him last (for good it seems, as i've not been scammed yet)
4) Don't remember trading with him at all
5) Putting on my hat of shame.

I've seen that you repped him but if everything went well it's not a problem. I had many situation like that, when you're trading with someone who then becomes a scammer.
It's always the same problem with the impersonators, people just don't know how to check if they're trading with the "real" trader.
Now he's impersonating another user.
About my dog, well, I had an avatar with my dog/cat, now I have this beautiful one :)
I guess he wasn't impersonating at that time 'coz i would have remember a dude with a dog...
Anyway i guess i was luckily just the last honest trade with him :)
But...but...your new avatar sucks! Show us the dog or change it!
i really dont understand how people get scammed by impersonators .. i just dont.
when im trading with someone im ALWAYS on enhanced steam, so i can see his SteamProfile and the link to his steamtrades, to make sure he is the one im trading with, i dont look for icon or rep or anything, just making sure its the same as his steamtrades profile not someone who changed an icon and a nickname and added me .... why wont more people do this to avoid getting scammed
I don't know as well. It's not the first time I have an impersonator and every time I have to explain that the same nickname and avatar don't mean that it's me.
Exactly .. i think people should be more aware of enhanced steam it really helps ... could reduce the number of scammers
Unfortunately I have an impersonator again.
So far he's scammed 3 steamtrades users (at least I know about them).
