Beta Launch 🎉

I've been working hard for the last few months, and I'm excited to announce that the beta version of SteamKey.Trade is now live! 🚀
This means the following:

  • It is now accessible through the domain steamkey.trade
  • It is fully functional and ready for you to use
  • It is open-source, and the code is available on GitHub
  • It is still in beta, so expect some bugs or missing features!

This project is a labor of love and my way of giving back to the community. I really hope you enjoy using it! Since it's fully open-source, anyone can help make it better, whether that's by reporting bugs, sharing ideas, or contributing code. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can build together!

GG.Deals partnership 🤝

I'm also excited to announce that I've partnered with GG.Deals to provide you with accurate and up-to-date market prices for games. This means that you can now see the current and historical market price for your games, and you can use this information to make informed decisions about your trades. GG.Deals is a great resource for finding the best deals on games, and I'm thrilled to be working with them! Alongside pricing data, they also graciously provided a feed to track game bundles, which are now available on the site.

Getting started 🔰

There are 4 core concepts:

  1. Apps: These are the games, DLCs, and software that you can trade. Currently, only Steam apps are supported.
  2. Collections: These are lists of apps or subcollections. This includes your wishlist, your library, bundles, giveaways, etc. Master collections are used for functional purposes, such as tracking your library or wishlist.
  3. Trades: These are the actual trades you can make. This lets you offer apps to other users. They decide whether to accept, decline or counter your offer.
  4. Vault: Here is where you can store your Steam keys. This provides an easy to way to track and trade your Steam keys. This feature is optional!

Excellent work, Revadike!
I'm truly impressed by your project. One suggestion, if I may — it would be great to see a section dedicated to trading games for TF2 keys, in addition to the current game-for-game trading. Sometimes, the value between games can vary quite a bit, and having a TF2 key reference could really help balance trades more fairly.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you!
Yes, I'd like to see support for steam inventory and other ingame items too. This is planned as a longterm upgrade, so don't expect to see it anytime soon, unless somebody else decides to help make it happen sooner, it is fully open-source after all. :)

As I saw I previous comment, if its possible then please add TF2 keys, Steam gems, TOD, etc. as an option. That will be huge help for trades who use this for trading!!

Ah, I love how clean the UI is.

Are you using the free GG API, or does the partnership go further than that?

While I like the idea of not having to go through Steam Chat, I do worry a bit about the security of hosting all keys on the site -- this seems like it has the potential to make it a big target for account stealing and such. I suppose by having to log in through Steam there's technically two-factor, but it hosting all my keys on one under-construction site does worry me a bit, especially an open-source one.

Actually, our partnership led to the free public API. However, I have access to more.

The vault is optional to use. I hope having it open-source will actually strengthen its security by having audits from the community.

I also have this idea of making a local vault app, which you can connect with the website, so you don't have to rely on us to keep your keys safe.

Oh wow, that's awesome! I was wondering what finally drove them to release an API.

A local world be really interesting. I love the idea and am looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Thanks for all your work~
