Thanks for the suggestion, but I only occassionally trade extra games from a few bundles I buy, and some of the games end up here due to huge backlog, so I don't complicate things with gems and TF2 keys that I don't have any use. :)
There is no complication. You trade off the games you have for gems/keys and buy the ones you want with gems/keys. It is much easier as compared to finding somebody to trade games and figuring out a value for each game and whether it is worth trading it for. I already traded Spellcaster and IF Found for TF2 keys!!
Yeah, I know TF2 keys are common among big traders, especially who also trade for money, which is also something I avoid. For me the complication is that I have to turn a Steam key into a TF2 key and then the TF2 key to another Steam key in two separate trades, which doubles the chance of a potential error. Also, people who trade speciafiacally for TF2 keys tend to do it for profit, while people who trade games for games usually do because they want to play the game. One guy once traded a $30 game key for a $5 multiplayer game he wanted to play with friends...
I see where you are coming from but the scam aspect can be easily avoided by using a site like allkeyshop or cheapdidigitaldownload which gives you the lowest possible price of a game. Use that to set gem prices and use the standard market price of 6000 gems = 1 TF2 = $2 and you have a value system for any game now.
I used to be dead-set against trading for "money" as well but at one point you realize that most traders nowadays have most games so trading games becomes that much harder since everybody has almost everything except a small portion of games. That's where TF2 keys can help act as a currency. Just a suggestion from personal experience. Good luck on your trades!!
I appreciate you taking the time to explain things. The thing is, since I started building my Steam library a few years ago, I am already collecting games at a much faster rate than I can play them, combining all trades, giveaways, bundles and Steam store purchases. That's also why I have not made the effort to migrate my trade list to Barter. It is sometimes difficult to quickly get a newly bundled game, but as I can wait thanks to my growing backlog, trading just keys once in a while on ST is working well enough for me at the time. :) Thanks again for you time!

I do not trade for unbundled games because the regional pricing for such games is much lower than the dollar rate so it makes no sense to trade for full price (even grey market values). Nightmare Reaper for example, costs $6 in my region with the current 25% sale.
