Not speculation, its fact. On many game sites and all quoting valve not an un-named source.
So Dota 2 confirmed as free 2 play and that the game they regard as finished and CS:GO released 21st August, going to be a good year for valve :D
It isn't speculation. E3 and many gaming sites say "Valve announced it".

The funniest thing:
People have been trading 2-4 Dotas per CS:GO. I forsee the opposite being true in the next week or two: 2-4 CS:GO for a Dota2.
And to think, I traded 1 Dota + tradeable COGS + a couple cheap IndieGala keys for my CS:GO beta... Better start actually playing it now to get my "money's" worth.
