keys are added into steam directly - no way of checking them. just trade with someone who has plenty of +rep and no negative rep, no one will give you a key first without paying as you have no feedback. alternatively you can try to use one of the high rep traders as third party but expect to pay small fee on top of the 8 keys ;-)

Permalinkif you are scared just trade for gifts, this way both parties trade at the same time and cant get scammed.
default stance towards 0 rep people asking someone to go first is simple: scammer - no offense dude ;-)
