You don't have to buy the game, you already own the game. So there's no buying involved. That's why trading works in the first place, lol. People giving up games they already own at discounted prices. I mean, why would I pay you items worth more than the game I'm getting if I can just buy it instead, right? If I offer you a key to buy the game on-demand, then of course, that would make no sense for you. But, since you already have it, the idea for most people is to get rid of the games they don't want and get back items worth a little under what the game's current low price is.

Yeah, you're definitely missing the point and not understanding this at all, but that's okay. It's simple, really.
One person already has a game that they're looking to get rid of, and they just want to get as close to the game's value as they can for it. Another person comes along and says "hey, I want that game". The game owner says, "okay, the game costs $2.99 right now, so how about you give me something worth $2.50 or so for it?" And that's the end. Could you imagine the game owner saying "okay, the game costs $2.99 right now, so how about you give me $3.50 for it?" That would be nonsense. For some reason you seem to be seeing it in reverse. In your scenario, the game owner is gouging the buyer and making them overpay when they could just buy the game. In my scenario, the game buyer gets a very small discount off the current game price (which is the point of trading), and the game owner gets rid of the game he's been trying to trade for as close to the current game price as he cant get so he can get other stuff instead (which is, again, the point).
But, it doesn't really matter anyway. You have a gift and I'm not looking to get a gift at a premium, just a key for my library. No worries.
Also, you keep mentioning a loss of money, which makes no sense. Nobody is buying anything. The game is in your possession. Look all over Steam Trades, almost every trade involves people accepting keys that add up to less than the games current selling price. So yes, this happens constantly, and no, nobody calls that a 'loss'.

Lets say i buy game for 2.99 = i wont give it for 2,4 logically. If i get game for 2.99, i wont sell for 2,99 coz its only time waste for nothing. I'm not a reseller, and I just made that post a few days ago. So I don't have multiple copies or sell in bulk for small gains. I just trade what I have and then it's gone. The prices change, and I trade my games for other game much more than I get CSGO keys. I made that post because people kept asking me for key prices. That game is not listed at 1 CSGO key, it.s 0.5 CSGO keys, by the way.
And yet again, you're talking about loss. Nobody said go spend $2.99. There's no money leaving your pocket. Whatever money was spent whenever you got it is long gone. The bottom line is YOU'RE SIMPLY TALKING ABOUT NOT GETTING ENOUGH PROFIT. You saying that $2.40 in items for a $2.99 game is nonsense is ABSURD. It's not nonsense, it's standard practice. You only find it nonsense in the context of NEEDING TO PROFIT ON YOUR GAME. The point is, instead of looking at if the offer is reasonable, you're looking at your end-profit. Just use any real-world example. Any at all. Yooka-laylee is $30. Do you think people are actually expecting $30+ worth of keys or items for it? Nope. No chance. It will be at least a bit lower. So again, it's not me trying to profit, and it's not even close to an unreasonable offer, the only problem is your desire to come out with more money than your game is currently worth.
I'm not going to be commenting any more on this. I don't mind at all that you declined my trade. You're allowed to want profit. What bothers me is you somehow actually truly believe that it's a nonsense offer. It's offensive and for somebody with so many trades already, it's amazing that you can't understand the concept of giving away slightly less value than a game's current price.

Well, he also considered to simply get it as a cd key from g2a or such where's it's going for like 5 keys. So, I'm looking for less than that. There are like two guys on steamtrades who do offer it for 5 keys which is why it doesn't appear to be that unrealistic to get for slightly less.
