Hmm? I actually can play the game thanks to the "NOT free as it looks" version of DOTA2.
Also that discussion is dated 7th november 2012, so it's probably solved (and as written in there that was a bug).

Spamming 'Early Access' Dota copies is Valve's bid to get more players to play Dota 2 so that they can compete with League of Legends' massive playerbase. You get them for free anyway, why would anyone give you anything for them?
