Seems you can actually sell TF2 items for Steam Wallet. Items will be marked as marketable.

Anyone try this yet?

So in theory, people can now send each other Steam Wallet funds as long as certain TF2 items are traded and sold. If you want to send a friend $50, you buy a worthless TF2 (marketable) item from them for $50 minus the 15% fee. So really not worth it at that rate.
