Judging by the chat logs, you didn't do anything wrong. that guy f'd up and wants to make you out to be the bad guy, so he doesn't look/feel so stupid. I wouldn't worry about it..even though I'd be pretty upset if I were you too, being called a scammer and what-not without reason. He shouldn't have pasted a key that he didn't want to lose..if someone sent me a key the first thing I'd do is activate it, because I'd assume they're trying to give me something. Unless they said "don't activate this" (which has happened before) then I wouldn't.

And now he wants his Killing Floor back because he regrets the trade. I would gladly give it back to him for a reverse of the trade, except he already activated the stuff I gave him. The whole thing with the Defense Grid for Fear 3 was a misunderstanding because he didn't tell me I wasn't supposed to use the key he pasted in chat. And now he's calling me a scammer because I won't just hand back his Killing Floor for nothing.

Just because he posts it in the chat window doesnt mean you can then call that deal done and not give the other 2 games. I'm not going to read through the whole chat log, but even from your own description on pastebin, it certainly sounds like you ripped him off. It looks like you had agreed to a deal involving your CSS + Gmod for Nuclear Dawn and Fear 3, and then amended the deal to add Defense Grid to your side to balance it out. You gave him your (cheap) key, he gave you his (expensive) key, and then you refused to carry through on the other half of the exchange that would have made it a fair deal.

There is no "Rest of what you owe" The deal wasn't laid out before he dropped his Fear 3 key which is the entirety of the problem. I wasn't aware of what he wanted for what and suddenly he's accusing me of "Stealing" a game that he clearly accepted to trade.
And yes, I will be sure to get proof from now on. I never want to have to deal with bullshit like this again.

Him:
- Defense Grid + DLC (Activated)
Over the course of the deal here is what we both received.

All the information on the story is in the above link. I really thought that if you pasted a key in chat it meant that you were ok with the other person activating it, but apparently that is not so.

I just feel frustrated that he is making me off as a villain when it was simply a failure in communication and wanted to let some other people know.
