Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

As you have agreed upon the trade by confirming it multiple times, we will be unable to recover any items/gifts that have been traded.

During the trade, the system has you verify and re-verify it if any changes are made to the trade. It is your responsibility to ensure you are receiving the correct items/gifts at the time of accepting the trade.

We will investigate this user and take appropriate action. Please note that you will not receive a notification about any action taken as a result of this report.

If you encounter a scammer in the future, please report them from their Steam Community profile. To do so, click the 'More' drop down, select 'Report Violation' and choose 'Attempted Trade Scam'.

Some examples of trades that you should not agree to are:

  • Trading items/gifts for money outside of the Steam Community Market
  • Trading items/gifts for CD keys
  • Trading items/gifts and expecting them to be returned to you through a verbal agreement
  • Trading items/gifts for nothing in return in the first trade and expecting to get an item or gift in a later trade

As long as the trade was done through the trade window, you will get the keys back. You just got unlucky and your ticket was serviced by an incompetent representative.

this happend to me also and i got the exact same message from steam support.... they won't do anything....

Sorry for the late reply, but YES, they will return. You didn't correctly explain the situation and you encountered an incompetent support rep. Submit another ticket and this time make it clear, they WILL give you the keys back if it was done through the trade window.

It doesnt matter what he says. For you the thing can be solved with the support.

Valve guarentees that youre save when you use the steam trading system. So when you have traded 12keys for a tradable copy of dayz in the trading system, and the dayz copy gets revoked, then Valve will give you back your keys. For this you have to talk with the support.

very enlightening, thanks.
if i may ask further question, if the key are given back to HalmyAK, from whose account does that key coming from?
is it from his latest trading partner, or valve just create keys without deducting from anyone's account?

I think they are created by Valve.

okay thanks for your advice :)

We apologize for the delay.

It appears the gifted title has been removed due to a billing error in the original purchase.

Our records indicate that your account received the game via a successful Steam Trade. However, since you later traded away these games, we cannot undo the trade and return these items.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm sorry mate.

I done a trade with HalmyAK and all OK. I hate the people who fraud the others, I'm interested on DayZ and now I know about I can't do trades with Scammer.

Thanks to advice the other users!

I bought a copy like 2 weeks ago and it got revoked. The trade was made in the steam window. Steam Support gave me back my keys, should give you yours too.
