The title says it as I see it. I want to trade my two keys for his/her bundle key. I'd have to know it worked before he could close on my keys. The keys should sit proxy until I could confirm this. Or we could do what the more experienced and reputible middleman says is best.

Not going to work. If either party gives a fake key the deal will be very messy and the middle man will have a few free keys.

One may give a fake key and just run.

I won't settle for a middle man that does not have a good rep. I would show any message I get as a result of activation.

Like I said, it won't work. It's a 50/50 chance one may give one fake key and run.

I see that you're a reputable person and you're experienced. Would you be willing to hold the keys until I confirm his key works?

Dude, it won't work no matter if you use middleman or not. You either take the risk, or call off the trade.

You don't understand. One has to test the key so see if it's valid, and said person can either receive a working key, or an invalid one. And meanwhile the other person can receive a valid key, leaving the other person without a game.

No, I won't do it. They only way it would work is 1 key against one 1 tradeable.

If I were you, I would just call it off. Believe it or not, I've also had people rejecting key trades with me.

Best thing you could do is check em out on http://steamrep.com/ see if they have been marked as a scammer.

Chat to them a bit first, you can get a good/bad feeling by just talking to them.

Have a look at his profile, read the comments they have (all of them sometimes they may have 100+ comments but 80% of them could be smack talk) and see how valuable/active the account is.

thing is with multi-key trades is that if any of the keys is a duplicate/fake then it can get complicated.

Maybe as you have 2 keys and he has 1 you could offer up 1 key (the lesser value/least desired), then he gives his key, then you complete the trade with your second key. Although this goes on the trust you have for this person.

I would call it off, unless the value of each game is so low, that I don't care.
this sounds way to troublesome, if it is about high value games

PS. may I ask you what the trade is about? you can add me on steam, if you don't want to post it here.

Thanks for the help guys. He was a good trader. I appreciate the feedback, it's been useful. @tokkei, I had two mann co. keys, he had a bundle key. I realized, based on his statement that he had what I was looking for, that we would not be using the safety afforded by the Steam client so I figured I'd ask for a more reputable person to help us with the deal. After seeing what some of you guys had to say I decided to take a chance with the guy, instead of having someone else stick their neck out, it went off without a hitch. I'd elaborate but I'd like to wrap this up and go to bed now. Thanks for offering to hear what I was concerned about.
