Above trade fell through as it was a promotional key which would not work. I still have Civilization V available along with Bioshock 2.
Is Borderlands GoTY a key or a gift? As stated above in a reply to another user, since I already own the game there would be no way for me to check if it was valid if it is a key.
Unfortunately it is a key :( Lemme know if you decide you want, but I know the feeling I had a few keys sitting on my PC that I couldn't verify because I owned them. Luckily they were valid when I traded them on.
