Always ask for the key first before giving anything....... if they dont want to give key first then move on and assume them to be a scammer. it isnt worth the hassle
few days back a guy having key with him was asking me to trade first and i was having tradeable game and when i refused he start shouting i cant b scammed and i m never scammed i said dude u have key open ur ass lock with it and go to hell. so always ask for key first no matter what ......... i have done some 10 trades and 7 of them were having keys and they were having lots of reps then me still they go first as they have key and i was having tradeable game so make it ur habbit to ask for key first.
Most important - rep (unless it's low, like <20). Inb4: Steam comments are not reps.
When I'm trading low value games, I can go first with a key, when other trader is new. But EVERYTHING valuable - lower rep go first. I made over 120 successful trades and never got scammed in this way, while users, who gave keys first for gifts were scammed.
I hate spreading such a bad advice as "key go first", it only makes trades more difficult, because some noobs want me to give them valuable game and then they maybe will send me the gift or just lie "key was invalid/duped!"

Just take your learned lesson and move on. You cannot educate the whole internet. There will always be people blind to the negrep, can't chancge that. I mean, now you try and keep this alive, one day you won't, or the guy has another steam profile. You simple can not take it to you to be others watchdog.
Just leave the crap alone, it's a bad thing you lost a game, but well, at least that won't happen again (I guess).

Those beta keys were misunderstanding (i spend my all money for those keys) then were revoked, and i refunded lol... but this guy dont want anything in back from me and he's telling everyone do not trade with him... just stahp lol - And thank you crizyzy... youre the only 1 guy here with brain...
He gaved me Archon + 3 tf2 items... and now he telling that im scammer becouse anything ill offer to him is or worthless or he dont want it... for him its funnier to telling that im scammer...
Well, I have to say I traded with this guy when I was newbie here =P, I got a Football Manager 2013 key, but the key was the Beta one, so I asked for my games back ^^ ... After 4 months I got my refund =) but it wasn't the same games involved in that trade. Well i'm lucky because at least got something back.
so I have to say here, when you make a trade, for a game key, you need to know there will be risk... So, stay away from gaming keys, non tradeable games and you'll be happy =)
y dnt we create a new law if a guy available on steamtrade and is scammer ( 1st make sure tht its real scammer coz there are lots of guys using others profile details to scam) then we all write in his rep that scammer if 20 people do it to his profile he is gone he cant trade then .........

No, people need to learn to read. I mean, there already is a feedback system in place here (the posrep/negrep thing) why go about about and add an ever escalating system to that (getting others, who are not involved in the trade itself, to post on someones profile)?
I mean, I could even go to the steamtrade profile of miki120kznw and post a negrep, say something like he's a scammer. But how the f*ck can I know that? That would mean, I'd take one guys word for true, and the other for a lie. No, that attitude I really don't like.
