They should if your giftcards are for Amazon.com. Well, for me they're working.

For some reason, Amazon says that you can't use giftcards for digital games. I tried to get L.A. Noire with a $5 gift card when it was on sale once and it didn't work.

Yeah I ran into the issue on previous purchases aswell...I was hoping someone would use a credit card and I'd give them $5 of giftcard

Yeah. At checkout, they want a credit card or something and won't allow you to use giftcards. I don't know why Amazon does this. Oh well...
