Aslong as you offer a giftable game yourself you will always get that one back.
But its only if you trade stuff for it in the trade window, keys paypal etc can't be given back!! so if you wanna trade safe, trade tradable stuff :D
also it's wasting ur time too much for report steam support to return ur item back =\
yeah i know your friend and this chinese dude too :D glados taco seem get trade ban =.= and maybe i will get soon because i traded with chinese :|
this chinese guy offer me some good deal too, but i declined it. anyway, i got risen2 from some trustworthy trader(giveaway member of steamgifts), i traded his risen2 with someone else, now the guy with my risen2 got blocked, im sure the guy i got the risen2 from got his risen from this chinese guy or from someone else, but im sure the first person who got the gift is from that chinese guy. So be careful.
Is this the Chinese guy?

His previous name is 鸡毛和老鼠
yeah this guy, he deleted all his friend, and chenged his name i think. I still feel bad because the guy with my risen2 got his trade blocked, and his risen2 revoked because of this pos. But yeah, i got the risen from trustworthy trader so i dont ask him where did he got the risen2.
I feel sorry for you and your friend. This guy offered me a giftable only Skyrim for my CS:GO and even said he would go first. Lucky I didn't take the offer because I knew there was something fishy.
He's right, this already happened to me twice but I managed to get my items back through Steam Support. My advice is don't trade with profiles created one or two months ago, and double check the trader's rep and game list.
did you got your games back through giftable trade? good to hear that since i heard someone said steam wont return your item if you dont trade it through steam window.
yes its on the steam support page. they only help get back stuff you traded in the trade window! but well it seems like they actually do something againts this, since Darklands got help
Good to hear.
I did trade them through the Steam trading window, regarding keys or gifted items I don't think they give them back.
The guy who scammed me and a few others was this http://steamcommunity.com/id/joomsteam/
thanks for the link.. ye as I said, its only what you trade in the window, since thats what they write on their support page.
But you can't get banned for trading on faulty stuff, atleast thats what it says on the support page, only the one who misused can (IE the one who stole a cc and bought games to trade) you will lose all games not traded in the window ofc..
So again. trade safe and look at the age of the other traders profile etc. before accepting key deals
not only that chinese dude, there r a lot of them now or maybe his alternative account
it seems like he spam our trading market =\
Im really lose my confidence to trade
i can confirm that u can get ur item back, if u trade ur item via steam trading window (not paypal, giftable, cd keys, blah blah blah)
If you got an giftable game offer (usually AAA games like Skyrim, Risen2, etc). Be careful, many people offering me giftable games, not saying it is not legit, but most of them is probably purchased from stolen credit card or something. My friend Risen 2 just gone from his inventory. I'm sure it is from some chinese dude(don't remember his steam profile) couple days ago, he keep offering too good to be true deal like 2x dota for skyrim giftable, CS:GO for KOA:R, etc and actually many people take the deal.
For example, I just got an offer from some guy, not saying this guy is a scammer(but I'm sure he is), but be careful, he's offering Skyrim giftable, and got only like 1-2 games.

All I can say is declined every giftable games offer, especially when the deal is too good to be true like 3x dota for my giftable skyrim, 2x dota for my Risen 2 giftable, etc, the list goes on.
