LOL WTF NOW HE GIVES ME BAD REP SERIOUSLY!? Fine dude play it that way, if and when i get ur ip ur royally fucked.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Dude, if you do that, he'll say, then you'll both end up getting banned.

Just file the ticket. I know it sucks, I've been had before, he's an asshole, I get it, but don't become one yourself.

Just vent your anger on a forum or something.

This gave me a laugh, thanks.

I reported his Steam account for Trade Scamming

1 decade ago
Permalink

Ok im sorry, just a little annoyed. I apologize for the way I've been going about things. I do appreciate the help you guys are providing. How do i go about creating a ticket Half? It says on steamgifts I shouldn't open up tickets for scammers?

1 decade ago
Permalink

I... actually don't know. Never done it before. I'd ask ArcaneVortex if I were you, they seem like they've been here awhile.

Even if you don't file a ticket against him, no one's going to be trading with a guy that's got -5 rep. xD EDIT: Well... -6 now.

(Still, it's still early to jump to conclusions, maybe this can all be resolved.)

Oh god.. I haven't scammed You, I deleted You from my friend list on Steam because the key You gave me was a duplicated one so You seemed suspisous and kind of scammer. I don't have the game in my steam library because the key was used.. It's really nice to see that thread here...

1 decade ago
Permalink

Dude, dont be an idiot. When steam trace the key back to whoever registered it and it matches with your IP guess what? your account is getting banned! Now if you want to redeem yourself give me that saints row 4 and maybe just maybe they will take pity on you.

Edit: On top of that the DLC from the humble bundle I gave you requires your email address to claim. So when that gets traced back hey guess what its going to match up with you again. GG its it really worth your whole game collection?

Good luck trying to wriggle your way out of this one, you little scum.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I must give You Saints Row 4 key for a used key? Where's the logic?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Maybe if you made your profile public, so that we could see your games list, it would help us determine whether or not you're telling the truth... or not.

It certainly isn't helping, makes you look like you're hiding something...

Also, if it was used, it wouldn't make sense that you'd just... pop off and disappear, if I got a used key, I'd say something, I imagine most other people would too.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Exactly my thoughts. I only saw your reply after i made mine below to suggest the same thing.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Haha, same deal here. We need to get to the bottom of this, he's got no reason to keep it private, so if he doesn't show it, we can only come to one conclusion.

1 decade ago
Permalink

By the way, Skyhax, i find it extremely suspicious that you have your profile set to private. Why don't you let us see what games you got?

Here's another scammer! Cheated me for my stuff. Same strategy. Got the trade and then went offline. Please report him! In case he tries to scam any one of you next!

Reporting these scum, is the only way to make this site a safer place. Its a shame that someone has to loose out before we know who these people are.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Now it's viewable only for steam users.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Thank you.

Well it seems you don't have it in your games list, I also checked any offline friends that could've been online after the event (to see if any are alternative accounts) and none of them have the game either.

It could indeed just be a coincidence, occasionally some codes will get used by luck after being activated for use. Not sure what to think, although I still find it weird that you just went poof instead of saying it was used.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I'm just putting the idea out there, it's not that hard: generally speaking, i think the smart scammer (so he can come back here and keep on scamming others) would just need to have a secondary Steam account (not linked via his friends list) where he could redeem those stolen keys and be happy with no proof of theft on his "scamming" account. The fact that the accused just immediately dropped out of chat and deleted the trader off his friend's list - i've been through that same experience before and that doesn't sit well with me at all. Anyone else would have at least said something.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I realize that, but I thought I might aswell check for sloppyness first.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Either way steam will verify his IP and link it to whatever accounts he has on steam and probably ban them all.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I don't believe that original and unused keys can be duplicated by luck. The keys are hard to replicate since they have too many characters and the probability of a duplicate being redeemed is infinitesimally small, next to zero. However, the DLC code from the humble bundle has been redeemed as well, which is impossible to happen without someone actually entering their email address, so in that case, bad luck in a duplicate key is absolutely impossible.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Ahhhh, I guess I must've missed him mentioning the Humble Bundle code being redeemed. Can't... Humble Bundle trace where it was gifted to...? You do need the game to be able to redeem the DLC after all.

I think it might be in rage's best interest to contact Humble Bundle about this, although, their ToS is that you're not allowed to trade the codes for other... things. xD So that may be tricky...

It is incredibly rare... yet it has actually happened to me before, with a PS+ code bought directly from the store. It's a once in a million chance but... it's still a chance.

oh look he's went from Norway to Parnu, Estonia now something extra fishy going on.

1 decade ago

Norway? Wtf u talking about?

1 decade ago

Does it matter?

1 decade ago

He's changed his ip which goes to prove my point.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I'm not sure what you mean...

He only changed his location on steam, I'm pretty sure that doesn't effect your ip address. I mean... I wouldn't know, but it seems like it wouldn't.

I could change my location on steam to Australia yet my ip address would remain unchanged.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Ah yeah your right. Didn't realize you could change location on steam.

1 decade ago

trading humblebundle keys is against TOS OF Steam and Humblebundle reporting him
won't get you anything back!
Also he can't get his steam acc banned cause of scamming!
He will only get trade banned!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Trust me, I'm sure everyone here knows it's pretty much impossible to get the game back.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Well, that's weird. I just got threatened for downrep from some dude who got 2 VAC bans. He just added me a few seconds ago on Steam and wanted to trade for a game, which i obviously refused in a polite manner. Here's his Steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/ggkthxbye

Get this guy banned now! He has neg repped me aswell for supporting a friend!

1 decade ago
Permalink

To be fair, he has the right, we are essentially negative repping him for reasons that are not our own. Although it's not right, neither is us negative repping him without actually knowing he's actually a scammer, either.

I expect I'll get negative repped too, it really is our own faults. Just think of it like taking a blow for the better good. c:

I'll have to decline, thanks for the offer though. I hope it doesn't put you off this site for long though, as it's still one of the cheapest places to get games. Just stick with the guys with the higher rep next time and be cautious.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Yea gotta agree with Half, deal with the bigger guys first.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Dealing with people with higher rep isn't "always" the proper thing to do. There are people who have gather lots of rep in shorts amount of time and still scammed people Take this person for example. Seeing how long they were members here will help verify and justify your reason

1 decade ago
Permalink

I realize this, which is why I also told him to be cautious.

Still, there's less of a risk involved in dealing with people who have higher positive rep, of course, in the end, anyone could scam anyone who's unaware, it's always better to be careful.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I have to disagree. No, he doesn't have the right to negative rep all of us. I wasn't blindly supporting the OP of this thread when i down rep'ed the alleged scammer. I was supporting my belief after factoring in all observations and talking it over with several of the people involved in this thread, before finally arriving at the conclusion that the OP was indeed scammed. Speaking from experience as a trader, i think it's fair to say that we KNOW a scam transaction when we see it and the screenshot as proof is more than enough for me. Some things are just obvious to experienced traders.

1 decade ago
Permalink

True, but I still think he has at least, a small right. Essentially Rep is to be given out after a successful trade, yet there are people (including myself) that have -repped him in the belief that he's a scammer, without having actually traded with him. He has a small right to fight back. Wouldn't you fight back if people accused you of being a scammer?

Not saying it is right of course, because it isn't, just that I can understand it.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I understand that you feel some sympathy since you think we all ganged up on the scammer for no reason. But we are neg rep'ing him for our own collective security as traders and for other less experienced people who might trade with him in the future. I wouldn't want to get scammed simply because some other trader didn't bother to neg rep a scammer. At least, other people will be warned when seeing the neg reps and if they still decide to go ahead with the trade, that's their problem.

It's really weird that this guy who claim that he got duplicated key didn't just said "duplicate key man" or something else. He just went offline. Also during the day I see he changed nick 5-6 times (not kinda usual). I am pretty sure that when he got Batman AO key that he used it on some other of his profile(s) (which not mean necessary that other profile is on his friend list).

1 decade ago

His profile is again private and he today again changed nick more then 5 times. Just a SCAMMER!
