Yes but during the beta of both of these games, they had inventory gift copies.

If you activate the gift, it's tied to your account, the game appears on your Steam list even when uninstalled. When you install it as a free to play game, you don't get the same result upon uninstalling it.
Decided to just buy DLC, closing thread.
