Heya, btw, How many tf2 keys would you trade for the game?

TF2 keys are "Mann Co. Supply Crate Keys" sort of like Steam cryptocurrency. Lots of people will accept TF2 keys as payment for games or items, instead of trading. Everyone values them slightly differently so definitely check some other threads for a rough idea of prices :)

Officially, you can check the price of TF2 keys here https://marketplace.tf/. There's also a thread or two floating around where people will sell you TF2 keys for actual money through PayPal or other means, below current market rate.

TF2 prices for games can be compared against any number of factors. A generally good thing to do is check the games price on this site https://gg.deals/ and divide it into the market rate for TF2. A game priced at $5.95 USD against TF2 market rate of $1.70 comes out to 3.5 TF2 keys. If someone is asking for 8 keys, that may be a fishy deal. If someone is asking for 3, might be a good choice to buy from.

Obviously you can't split a single key up into a half key, so what lots of us do is either use Steam gems or Tour of Duty/ToD tickets to make it up. ToD are another team fortress 2 item, usually worth about half what a key is.

The more factors you consider, the mor expensive or competitive the market gets. If there is only 1 copy of a super rare game, from the old steam gift system, it's pretty much "name your price". I saw an offer of $1,400 for a single racing game be declined. Likewise, if it's a game given away for free, something that many people have but not many want, etc., you should look at prices accordingly. Why would I pay someone 4 keys for a game, if there are 20 other people here offering it for 3?

In general, they are very handy to have, but not everyone will take them.
