I like your idea. How about a fair combination of these games: Fallout 3(Tradable), Metro 2033(Tradable), Dreamfall: The Longest Journey(Tradable), Nexuiz(Tradable) for Darkness 2?
Using the method there sure is a fair combination, I'm just afraid the only game interesting to me is Metro as I own F3 and the others aren't my preferred genres. But I am happy people are not flaming my topic :)

It would work perfectly fine. It just won't be very popular. Surely people trade in the hopes of getting something better? Or saving money somewhere? Same value trades could only be useful in rare circumstances. But fair enough, you're trying.
Yeah, that's what I see as the main problem. Most people are looking to get (often insane) profits. I mean, sure I opt for some small profit too every now and then, but then when I just want to trade for a game I am interested in I am shocked by what some traders ask for in return.
Though this method could come in handy if someone's looking to get games which are restricted or cut or not available in their region as they wouldn't need to overpay to get them.

Avencast or (two of Hydrophobia, Nation Red, King Arthur: Fallen Champions, Vegas: Make It Big) for Fable 1?
Judging from the store page Avencast is much like Torchlight or Diablo and as I got TL2 and TL1 I doubt I'll need more of that genre.. And the others aren't that appealing to me, sorry. Hydrophobia got some bad reviews, apart from that I'm not that much into Zombie games or strategy.

I am one of them? I said I want equal store price. That doesn't mean I want a brand new 50$ game. It just means equal store price. This can virtually be 5 times Portal 1.

+1 to ninjazinedin and there is a BIG flaw here,in Romania>Europe La Noire,SR3 and BL GOTY are 30 euros each,in Georgia La Noire is 12$,BL GOTY is 30$ and SR3 is 50$,therefore this topic is almost fail,NOT EVERY COUNTRY HAS YOUR PRICES
So? Most traders have USD price as most Steam Users live there and also because US-Store is probably the only one without any restrictions and weird fucked up prices like most others have.
I don't have the US Store either, I live in EU, but I go for US prices as they are the most common.
If we went by your analogy I just need to find out in which store my game is most expensive and the lowballing and ripoffs would start again.

An idea of fair trading, using the most common prices so the largest possible group of people can adapt it, but you just failed at understanding the whole topic but rather brought up points that are full of nonsense one more than the other.

So here is how it works: We value the games that are subject to trade at full US steam store price, e.g. we value Fable TLC at 10$.
Then there is NO need to argue about value and prices because they're clear and facts. Now the only thing you have to do is offer games of same value, meaning in this case for Fable you'd have to offer another 10$ game. Pretty simple, isn't it?
So again, remember what you just read. This topic is kind of an experiment to see how trading could work instead of the usual deals with greedy retards who want double overpay. This method here is supposed to be fair, as in you trade things of the exact same price, especially as tradeable games can't be "used" and thus theoretically can't lose value like a car would. Only their store price could decrease.
