Be sure to check it out: Main topic
Enjoy!

Could you make it ignore words like key, gift, hb & IG infront of games name. Having the problem here on my topic. Any easy fix? :)

Dunno about this. I could ignore many things, but will it improve the accuracy? What if a game has key, gift, hb or IG in their game name. Please add the suggestion to the main topic. Thanks.

Well, i used to copy paste list to compare2steam and it only recognize a user by its steam username , not via link or id. And getting a feature embedded on a page when trading just made it faster as well as save time. Thank you for making this script, great help.

Also it would be useful if it can show if a game has trading card or not.

And if it would be in a extension with steamtrade notification on it, it would be more cooler.

Thanks anyway.

Edit : Script cannot read data from tables :\

Pretty nice, now i hope that all people with huge lists link their games to the steam shop.

Permalink

As of right now, this app can't be used with people who link games.

Permalink

For items linked to steam store, check my other userscript: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/y9vVm/userscript-steam-store-game-owned-checker
I decided to keep it separated, as this script would also be useful for other sites.

Ignoring everything between [ and ] means it won't recognize games linked to the Steam store and similar. HIGHLY recommend changing that.

For example, try it on my page: https://www.steamtrades.com/trade/2KVDf/h-100-games-steam-uplay-pc-ps3-w-wishlist-or-paypal

Also recommend making numbers and roman numerals interchangeable somehow (i.e. Crash Time 2 vs Crash Time II)

Good tip on the roman numerals. I may look into that.
Next time, better use the main topic for this sort of stuff :)

Thanks a lot for this amazing script, saved a lot of time. I have one question though, How long does it take until it sync the game list ? For example, I activated a game on my account but when i checked the game using this script, it showed I still didnt had it.

Permalink

Edit the script, and change the variable:

//Set your steam sync interval in hours. (Set to 0 if you want to force a sync)
var sync_interval = 6;

Permalink

Setting it to 0 would mean it will sync all games as soon as I run the script ?
Also thanks for the reply

Hi, This script seems to stop working now. It shows red cross on all the games, even the ones I actually own. I have tried using my steamID64 in manual_steamID but it still doesn't work. EDIT: nvm about this, It seems I had to remove the brackets to make it work.

Also I saw you made a steam free apps on your GitHub page but can't seem to understand how it should work. Can you elaborate a little bit to a noob like me ?

EDIT #2: I did "npm install" in the directory and it installed all the other packages and then tried each packages mentioned by you. steamauth package is still giving error but i installed all the other packages and it worked fine onwards. Thank you.

interesting idea, thank you for post; as an aside i strongly recommend nerdchan.net of which i was an early adopter and many have since followed. it doesn't have any of the problems compare2steam does save for 1, that it has a hard time recognizing dlcs and packages, but that's due to steam stuff, like steamgifts behavior. if you could take nerdchan and spruce it up with dlc and package detection, as well as some way to correct mispellings or high confidence match titles better, you'd have the gold standard list-pasting trade tool. (since people who don't make clean lists in plain post will render your script powerless)

edit: bonus points if you can figure out why my account gives a constant error and requires refresh to work. i know it's my wishlist but i can't fix it.

edit2: your scripts will not work at all for me. infinite loading circle. i think it crashes trying to deal with my wishlist.

Is there any chance you could make a UserScript that would take and format the post like [This](http://steam.com/gameurl)?

Permalink

There is one on SG. Just change the domain to include steam trades.

Permalink

Would you link me to it? I used the barter.vg one currently. Works amazingly.

just use the search it's called comment formatting.

Any chance I could get you to rethink your public script for automating Barter.vg offers. I've only noticed it in use for one day and already I've received 5 or 6 terrible offers that have nothing I'd be remotely interested in. It's getting quite annoying to see offers roll in only to notice it's the yet another automated junk offer using your script. Any tips to permanently block your script from sending me offers? I don't want to use Steam to log in to your script.

Permalink

This is exactly why I made the unsubscribe thing! The only piece of information I will get from you is your steamid. It's Oauth, it never reveals your actual username and password! It only returns your steamid. This allows me to validate you who you say you are. And avoids malicious users changing preferences for other people.

Permalink

I see. But that still means I have to unsubscribe to every trader one by one, correct?

Permalink

It will unsubscribe you to anyone's automated offer.

Permalink

My mistake for assuming. I was under the impression each user woukd be it's own subscription (a la email unsubscribe). Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for the awesome script but how i can add games that i own

Permalink

Does not work for
https://www.steamtrades.com/trade/eGKPI/h-cheap-games-w-cards
Since he has the dot infront.
seems to be able to get rid of the (xx cards) stuff, but not the dot.

Or this one.
https://www.steamtrades.com/trade/gqFCQ/h-60-titles-w-wanted-list-keys-gems-csgo-skins

Don't know why in that case.

Permalink

I know, there are so many ways people could format their post. It is hard to consider them all. I may add support for them later.

Permalink

Jeha, but the second one seems to be fine, but it just does not recongnize the lines.

What I did for a similar task was:
remove "a, the, etc.", then everything, that is not [a-Z0-9] and then compare with similar modified real game names.
In case of no match, compare again using startsWith

Gets around nearly all "formation specific" problems, but introduces wrong matches.

Maybe display matches with startswith as yellow and show the matched name as mouseover.

Thanks for this nice script ;) Keep up the good work!

I want to know if we can edit the script to put a list of games that we want, and will check the games that we want on the [H] list of the trader... It's like the oposite, only checking the games that we Want... And can edit the want games anytime (In casa that we get the game)

Interesting. Thank you. Advices:

  • Make automatic without pressing Filter.
  • Does not work for deleted from Steam shop games.

Just wanted to let you know your nice script isn't working now with the new (and unnecessary) steam's wishlist design.

Also, can I make a request, hopefully it's not a difficult one to implement - can the script re-order the list to make the wishlisted games appear first, then games you already have and then others (don't have or want and unrecognized)? This will make it much less of a hassle in very long lists.
