I have heard of accounts being banned for having something bought on an illegal credit card. Although key leaks have apparently happened before and what they did was just remove the game.
I traded for Arma 3 Alpha Digital Deluxe Edition on the 26 of June. A few days ago my Game disappeared from my Library. I opened Steam Support and they gave me my TF2 Keys back. But this really sucks. The Game is now much more expensive and i cant trade for it anymore with my Keys :\

Although. Maybe that was a legit buy not a credit card hack. And the guy just got refunded for it.
The Guy i traded with said he didnt revoke the gift. And Steam Support said "The Key was banned because of the request of the publisher and deletet from your account. Please contact the Seller directly." (roughly translated)
I traded 12 or 13 Keys for the Arma3 Alpha back in June.

I believe this guy might be legit. I do not understand how he can offer it for such a low price though. He may have got them illegally like the rest but won't refund. I am unsure. Main point is, why would you buy it for $60 and then sell it for $20, makes no sense.

Anyway, If you do get banned. Email steam support and explain what happened. Although because it was done through paypal, i do not think you can get a refund. There is a small chance things traded through trading system on steam can be refunded, but Steam is not Paypal so not sure on this. Perhaps you can email paypal and say that what you bought was an illegal copy and you need a refund.

Well all the people who I have tricked into offering it to me have said the EXACT same thing. that they bought it from bistudio.com, and they can go first and they all give a receipt. Which makes me think its a credit card hack.

Thank you for this, there are some really twisted people going around doing sh*t like this. Its this kind of behavior that gives steam and gamers in general a bad rep. As I understand the key legal? The method by which he gets these keys are not legal? And in the case of the activation key on account i can get banned?
The keys are legit but illegal as they were bought illegally. (legit means real) So you can activate it on your account but its an illegal copy and your steam account is up for termination due to it. If Steam get a warning of a leak of illegal keys like this (which i have reported to them) before they actually start the banning, they will only remove the game from your library. So hopefully they see my warning before they ban accounts.

Well he hasnt blocked me but his so claimed "little brother" of his is making a lot of suspicious excuses like my brother is on vacation for a month and I just asked him today and he said that he got married and he gave his brother the account to play with. Next time you trade with someone, you should do a background check on their profiles and then don't trust if that account was just created for trading, especially if it's very recent... Don't matter if it's a cdkey trade or a gift trade.
This person offered me Arma3 for 7 keys. Never replied however. But seems 3 people have already jumped all over that offer.

You must have at least a screenshot from the chat to report somebody. Without that your accusations have no base and everybody could accuse anybody of scamming. Those guys must be reported on SteamRep (if they are really scammers), so they would be tagged and people would see who they are. What can you do now without proofs - nothing.

First off. We don't want flaming on SteamTrades. Spamming comments and bumps over and over directed towards the reply on the scammer's comment does not help.
The main topic of warning is sufficient enough with the links and information you provided about the original scammer.
Also, claiming other persons you have listed to be part of such scam, you will need to provide more proof on each individual person's/profile scam before actually naming such person/profile, or such report simply becomes "hearsay" and again may start flaming in the thread, throughout SteamTrades and/or may be directed towards the person's/profile on Steam which you mentioned. I mention this because if flaming does occur on their profile they have right to report you on Steam by revealing this Thread through a Steam Ticket and file a complaint claiming harassment from you and intentionally causing other members to to harass them as well. Such action can immediately lead to your Steam account being Steam Community banned or even a Suspended Steam account. Please refer to the Steam Online Conduct TOS, which is not limited to actions taken through Steam only.

This is a huge developing thing that me and another trader have been watching since the start of the day. All of the copies are being bought illegally. A confession has been made and I have reported it to Steam support. I will update this in the morning.
But please KEEP THIS BUMPED and DO NOT trade for ARMA 3.
EDIT: Just to be clear. The keys are legit. They work, but they could not have been bought legally. When they are found to be bought illegally it could result in your Steam account being banned. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.
EDIT: I do not want to give all details before I have got a response from Steam. But I have screenshots, confessions to hacking the site, transcripts and more I can release if needed.
EDIT: AUGUST 24th --- They are back at it again. I just got added asking if im interested. The accounts look legit, but really have very little. Something i've notices is they all have ARMA 2, ARMA 3 Beta, DOTA2, APB RELOADED, TF2, ARMA 2: OA. And a few others, with game time. Which makes it even more confusing, why so much work has went into this.
EDIT: AUGUST 25th -- A user by "gato" followed by something else is at it constantly. be aware of him, he charges large prices so seems legit but I have had 2 people come to me so far saying that they just lost their copy of ARMA 3.
