Update: Well, I really don't like to give NEGATIVE feedback, and while I wouldn't say the user scammed me, the link changed to USED somewhere between 1/9 and 1/23 (and neither of us used it) but I am out what I traded for. I did message the user, and the user messaged HB about the gift link. HB might be slow, but after a week I will just keep this here until I get any potential updates about if I'm taking a loss or if HB can figure out who redeemed it and it gets replaced.

Jan 23rd: Noticed the link appeared as being Used and contacted the user.
Jan 30th: Leaving this as a warning if you trade then you should be using the link immediately or you risk a link being used potentially later (2nd time I've encountered trading with people recently)
Jan 31: Humble still working on the situation
.. and then they revoked the key and issued a new one. So it's a positive experience (again, and not the user's fault) Generic plus rep to a helpful user, trusting and all.
