Very nice, thanks !
EDIT: Oh, and it even shows 'bumped xx minutes ago' instead of 'last post xx minutes ago' in the forum view. Cool.
I'd have said the hour-long bump-free period was good enough, personally, but thanks. It makes things a lot simpler!
i understand the thought behind this but i don't think it would be a good idea in practice. you would get 2 offers to your post every 30min. maybe lockout letting ops posts bumping his thread but i would wait and see if ops post/delete becomes a problem. op lock would also remove replying only to bump.
if there was no post bumping i think the timer on the bump button would have to be shorter 10-15min maybe.
I love it so much to come back to SteamTrades and notice new features. It's nice job you're doing out there! Thank you.
30 minutes is too much in terms of overbumping. You did bump, three minutes past - your thread is halfway down the page already. Should be at least 1h, or even 1.5-2h, or else it's a mess of hop-step-jumping threads.
And yeah, like qia said: "now make it so posts dont bump, leave the job of bumping to that button"
Thanks for this. 30 minutes is not enough though, it should be at least an hour. Mainly because it's a pain in the ass to come press that button every 30 minutes if you want your thread to stay visible. :v
One thing I noticed is that after a bump, if I try to refresh the page, my browser tells me it has to resend the information (due to method=post). I assume it is safe to do so ?
Well, I was deleting my bump posts to keep my topic nice and clear but this comes in handy :). Thanks! Also, I agree with some opinions that the rule about bumping should be 1 hour between bumps again.
You'll see a new button up at the top right of your topics, next to edit and close. The bump button will become enabled if your thread is inactive for 30 minutes or more. Clicking it is no surprise, it bumps your thread to the top. Going forward, please use this button instead of commenting to keep the forum easier to read. If 30 minutes is too short, or too long, we'll adjust accordingly, but let's start there and see how it goes.
