I was the guy scammed. sucks cause it was my first trade, too.
well, lesson learned, trust nobody.
Well... Example: if the guy uses Steam since 2005, has his stuff in the inventory (set to public), 20 pages of +rep on his profile and he seems friendly, I can pretty much guarantee you, that he's fair and honest trader (he wouldn't risk getting banned for some stupid scammed game)
And if you see a guy with everything private... You should avoid trading with him, simple as that :P
Why people do trades with private profiles? Ok, if someone have opened profile and impersonator good trader I can get scammed by him. But in 99,9% private mean scammer.

I got screwed today when someone traded me for a copy of "ARMA 3 Alpha Lite"...It looks like a normal ARMA 3 gift...but it's a free version that is only good for Alpha testing...not even Beta.
Then this user said they thought that was what I wanted after I discovered the name difference in Steam when I was going to install it.
I gave $50 of Steam games for (what I thought was) ARMA 3 Alpha. But I got tricked into accepting a Alpha level Demo!
