Ok, so some people get scammed by asking for the other persons SteamTrades profile and that person returns a profile with 500 rep, and then person 1 goes "o shiet, 500 repz, i wil go firzt" and person 2 goes "souns gud ei" and then person 1 gets scammed. Idiot.

Well I am here to help. There is a thread located here which shows you how to find a users SteamTrades or SteamGifts profile with only their Steam ID (yeah, what a cool feature!). I am here to show you a nice easy way of implementing this with Chrome, some people would have already done this, and I did this because it is so efficient. I will link pictures to make it easier for those who cannot follow :).

Step 1: Download Google Chrome.
Step 2: Open it up and right click the address bar, then click "Edit Search Engines". Picture.
Step 3: Scroll to the bottom, and add a new search engine. The first box is only to identify it for yourself, I named mine SteamTrades ID. The second box, keep it short as this is what you type in before the Steam ID, I used "stid", making it easy as it stands for SteamTradesID. The third box, place "http://www.steamtrades.com/user/id/%s" in it. The URL is the basic SteamTrades one, with /user/id/%s on the end. The /user/id/ is searching for users with the ID that follows. %s is the ID variable, and what you enter in after stid, is that. Picture.
Step 4: Open up Steam and open the settings by going to Steam > Settings. Open up the Interface tab, and make sure "Display Steam URL address bar when available" is checked. Click OK and close that. Picture.
Step 5: Visit any of your friends profile page and copy the several digit number from the URL in the address bar at the top of Steam, and go to Chrome, and type in the address bar "stid 76561198060245264". This will bring you to my profile, feel free to rep for making your life easier and helping you avoid scammers :).

Now you can enjoy using the address bar to find peoples SteamTrades profile.

Please bump so others can find this. Thankyou.

This can be just as easily be used in Firefox as well, but it's utterly pointless either way.
I suggest you use Enhanced Steam add-on/extension for both Firefox and Chrome, it will give you this and a lot more.

This. Using Enhanced Steam simply gives you a link to SteamRep/Steamtrades/Steamgifts profile of the proile you are looking at.

Is this thing even legit? It changes/adds so much to Steam, that it seems Valve would not allow it/punish you for using it.

Why woould it not be legit? It is just a add-on for the browser (not the client). It is not like you are only allowed to view websites a certain way.

I tried it out and like it a lot. I was not aware we could do this, as I had never tried anything like it before.
