Borderlands GOTY, or at least at first, this is rather embarrassing but he actually got me to give him another game Duke Nukem Forever, I guess if the trade seems to good it is? But I hate to think one douche can ruin it for everyone else, its just that you can't let people like that stop you from being a trusting person, still both those games may hold value alone but i got them in a bundle for 5 dollars, not a big loss, but still i've never been scammed before...

The worst part is if he has any intelligence, which i hope he doesn't, he probably took my two keys and used them on a different account, I'm going to send a report to steam like you said, i'll include the two keys and hopefully they can do something about this.

Amazon, they were having a pretty good holiday sale for game bundles, especially games by 2K. Like I said Borderlands GOTY and Duke Nukem Forever are valued decently on steam but I got them from a bundle with The Darkness II for like 5 bucks so it wasn't to big a loss when that douche got them.

He scammed me, and the best part was he's really good at it. There's even a steamrep link in his profile which checked out fine, so i traded with him. I was supposed to trade him lego star wars the complete saga for a shogun 2 key, soon as I sent it to him he disappeared.
Reported him for violation already.
Luckily i didn't trade with him earlier today. Wanted to trade a Skyrim key for Dark Souls (in my inventory), but as everyone says, if it doesn't go in the window, no trade. :)

The trade window is a crutch for those that lack the street smarts to recognize bad trades and bad traders.

I don't think he has one, I'm pretty sure he just waits around for a post with something he thinks he can scam and then just disappears.
What I hate the most about all this is everyone is on high alert when it comes to keys, as soon as you mention keys everyone just closes up shop, I used to be able to trade pretty easily but now a key is worth half the price of its steam based counterpart, it's really ridiculous.
Some of the decline in key value is due to the large number of indie bundles, Amazon deal packs, and good deals coming from sites like GMG.
If a key is $10 cheaper than the Steam price, noone with any sense is going to pay Steam price for it, especially if it's not a high-demand game with few copies floating around. Best you can hope is maybe halfway between key sale price and Steam price.
Yes, but those people fail to see common sense, just because the EB Games is having a sale in London for Far Cry 3 doesn't mean I can Expect my EB Games to be having a sale, I mean if they want a game, say like Darksiders 2, the game is like 40$ on steam right now, but amazon was having a sale for the game and it was like 20$, I can understand that they didn't have the money or maybe they didn't even know about the sale, but once the sale is over you can't expect to get the game for 20$, because the sale is over, the game is 40$ again. It's like a steam sale, you can't expect the same prices for a game after the sale is over, so why do people keep thinking that's what they can get? I know they come here to find deals but half the time I see people ripping each other off, and even then the rest are giving out the games for like 5$ off the original asking price, this doesn't go against what I have come to expect from steam trades but it does seem to conflict with what most people expect.

As in the Title, Dark Mage ™ is a scammer, he has fake reps on steam profile, he asked me to go first, and then he puts me on ignore list and that's it, didnt give me any game, i gave him a key for cryostasis, he was supposed to give me a key to The Walking Dead
Im writing that because i hope nobody more will get scammed by that guy.
