Do not. I repeat DO NOT EVER trade with someone who has their profile on private. Always look at nicknames used by the person. ALWAYS tell them to post on your thread on steamtrades so you can look directly at their steamtrades profile and steam profile. Of course do all this before even considering to trade.
Oh and report the guy, I know of at least three people who already have. Maybe you will get your gifts back once steam takes the reports serious

nope steam don't care you got scammed. he'll get a 2 week probation. and since your like the 5th report on this copycat i've seen it was coming anyway.
I honestly couldn't say for sure. All I know is, they investigate people like this. They suspend all trade activity and follow what was traded (to all users) to and from the account in question. They try to return the items to people. If you traded him gifts and he is found guilty (I'm sure he will be) then there is a good chance you will get your gifts back. That's why I try to stick to items that go thru the trade window. So steam has transaction proof of it.
yeah just read that. That's some crap oh well. If they were gifted I think you can revoke the gifts some how? (I don't know how to do it. but I've heard of people doing it)
From what I've read, I think the only way to revoke the gift is to do a cancel the steam payment but your account would be frozen, until you explain to steam what happened and then pay for the games. There is a lot of info on it.. gotta look it up an see what might work for you.
Also I read if he didn't accept the gift yet (unlikely) you can change the recipient to your own email then go claim them? (Idk how new or if any of this info is fully legit)
I gifted him the games as my account isn't eligble to trade yet. Will I get them back? I've saved up alot of money and I don't want it to go to waste on the scumbags of the earth

Dirtbag tried to scam me too. If it weren't for my friend, I would have fallen in.
Surely one of the most important lessons here is that if a trade sounds too good to be true, be extremely careful
Also another good piece of advice, if trading and the guy wants you to gift it, don't send it, write in chat sent. If he goes offline, you just saved yourself a scam, this might not work as the guy might check his gifts. But this will definitely decreases your chances of being scammed
